Accurate easy to use scale
I bought one of these many years ago and it has held up to tons of work. I use it to weigh eggs while packing and I generally pack 100 dozen a week. Plus I use it for kitchen baking too. I use my calibration weights to see how accurate it was and was quite pleased that it was better them they advertised. When a several trips to the floor took it out I bought this one and it is equally great!

Perfect for weighing espresso doses
This isn't any good for pour over techniques. It has no fancy bluetooth connection and does not time your shot but, for a very low price, it does a lot to improve your espresso technique starting with measuring your grinder's retention which is very important when you are single dosing and, of course, knowing the dose in the portafilter. For that purpose, what you need is 0.1g precision which means you need to get reapeatable results. For example, ideally the scale would show the same number when it weighed the same amount of coffee as beans or ground so that you know any difference in the number would be due to retention. I have been brewing my own espresso for over ten years and have used four or five scales that claimed to have the 0.1g precision. None did. Sometimes they would be off as much as 0.5g. For this purchase I decided to go with one that claimed 0.01g. I just got this scale and, of course, it does not have 0.01g but you can trust it to 0.1g which is all you need for brewing espresso. I just did the testing using single coffee beans.Besides not having the fancy extras, it does have the limitation of 500g so it is not good as a general kitchen scale but, with the low price, you can afford to get another scale for that. And 500g means you can use it to measure the liquid in the cup while you are brewing so that you can get whatever liquid to dose ratio you prefer. It is low enough that you can fit it below your cup. You are going to need a separate timing device for your shots but many of the new espresso machines have a built in timer. I have not found any scale with a timer that claims 0.01g precision. They are all designed for pour overs with 3000g or as a minimum 2000g limits and 0.1g precision and many reviewers complain that the precision is exaggerated. That includes the supposedly premium scales that cost over $200.I just got this scale today and cannot vouch for durability but I do not see any flimsy materials.

simple, easy to use, cant really complain considering the price.
works as advertised, i like the cover/ trays it comes with, it was packaged very well, for 13 bucks, you really can't expect anything better. calibrateing wasnt a big deal, mine was about 0.05 off, which for my purpose ( measuring out espresso) its wasnt a huge deal.

Accurate scale
The media could not be loaded. I bought this AMIR scale in Feb 2021 as a backup to weigh small amounts of spices. I'm rating it Dec 2024. I never used it. I did today. I pulled it out of the box, checked the batteries. Boy, I lucked out. The cheapo batteries that come with things didn't leak and they still work.I got some supplements and each capsule is supposed to have 1060 mg in them. I dumped the whole bottle of 60 onto the tray. Should weigh 63600mg. Divide by 1000 =63.6 gr. My whole bottle of supplements weighs 25 gr. I'm not happy. BUT I AM happy that this scale is accurate. I weighed the capsules on a Taylor scale as well.If you use supplements, you owe it to yourself to weigh them.By the way, I paid $13.49 for the scale in Feb 2021. Here it is Dec 2024 and it's $9.99.I DO recommend this scale.

99% as accurate as my 4 beam balance!
I have been using an Ohaus 4 beam centi-gram balance for my photochemical measurements for 40 years. It has several disadvantages including being very slow to balance everything out accurately and susceptible to breezes. So I thought I would join the 21st century of Chinese inexpensive imports. I selected this scale among many offerings because of it's always on feature. Btw, my scale came with that working right out of the box. Some have reported it was a procedure to be figured out. So right off the get-go looks good.So now the acid test, how accurate is it? The four beam scale is accurate to 100th of a gram and gravity always works and is consistent, so it is always accurate to the extent the operator works slowly and accurately.I tried it out on a number of items sitting around, for instance, a nickel. On my balance it weighed in at 4.95 G, on the new scale 4.94. Wow! Another item weighed in at 1.06 G on both, although the scale tended to jump off of that number now and then and hunt around a little bit. But it's pretty easy to figure out which is the dominant reading. On another test with 4.72 g the balance I got 4.74 on the scale. This is more than accurate enough for my needs. Ymmv.

I use it daily for cooking
I use this scale daily for cooking, measuring coffee, etc, and it's been terrific. I've dropped it and spilled on it many times over the years and it still measures my 100g reference weight within half a gram. When I eventually destroy this one with my klutzy abuse I'll replace it with the same model.
