Makes great natto
Needed a yogurt maker to ferment my soybeans. After a few tries, I finally found what works for me!• Soak soybeans overnight. 12 hours at most.• Steam soybeans in rice cooker 1 hr 30. Make sure to add water if needed. You want the beans to be soft to where they break in half with two fingers, but not mushy.• Put beans in glass bowl and add in spores and mix around real good, be gentle not to break the beans.• Put beans in yogurt container and place towel over opening so it can breathe. I rest my plastic lid over the top to where there is barely a 45 degree angle for its breathing room.• 40C for 20-24hrs.• Store natto in fridge w/ lid to neutralize smell & flavor, for me it’s 2-3 days and then I put it in the freezer.• The more you stir, the more amino acids you release thus it becomes sticker! You want this!! 👍🏼I didn’t hardcore sterilize anything either, just made sure things were generally clean.

Great product!
Used it to make soy yogurt and Natto. Works great!!! Should've bought it sooner... Very simple to use and super easy to clean. The ability to use different & precise temperature control with the timer in such an simple way is a huge plus. This is going to be my go-to machine for making fermented foods! Thank you!

SETTING THE UNIT
The instructions are in Japanese. When you plug in the unit the display lights up and you think it is heating but it is not. The display toggles between (degrees Celsius) and (Hours). The button is on the side of the display. The bottom button turns heating on. When heating an Orange Led turns on. The unit can only be programmed in the off state (orange button off). Programming is locked out when heating. To program, set the display to hours or degrees Celsius and use the +/- buttons. To convert degrees Celsius to degree Fahrenheit use any on line calculator or tables. I use the all everything converter from Josh Madison"s website. It is downloadable and I have used it for years. The link is https://joshmadison.com/convert-for-windows/ .The equations for those who want to know is C = (5/9)[F - 32) AND F =(9/5)C + 32.Some helpful thoughts are 32 degrees F = 0 degrees C AND 212 degrees F = 100 degrees C.One reviewer notes that the box says 100V AC. American voltage is 120VAC +/- 20VAC. The reviewer's research says the company's disclaimer is that it can be a fire hazard over 100VAC. Yet it has the American standard plug and website is in Japanese.

Ineffective heating time
Good temp control but poor heating time - only 8 hrs. If you're gone for 12 hrs, then your yogurt stops production because the heat shuts off entirely after a max of 8 hrs.
