There's a hook on the part that mounts on the ceiling, but could find out where it went to support the fan while you attached the wires. So, I used a piece of scrap wire and made a loop through one of the mounting screw holes around the edge of the fan. Then I hung the loop on the hook. This supported the fan while I connected the power wires. Once I was ready, I cut the loop and pulled the wire out of the way, while supporting the fan. The only difficulty I had during the installation was I had problems getting the screw holes lined up.Once up, I discovered a slight wobble at high speed. When I get a chance I'll go back in and take a look.We live in an old house built in 1932 with low ceilings in the bedrooms. that's the reason for purchasing the fan. Overall, I'm very pleased with the looks and operation of the fan.

This fan has 8 blades, which is more than any other fans in the price range. Despite the small size of the fan, I can't believe how much air it moves! Very powerful motor. It cools and moves air much better than our other full size traditional ceiling fans. I would definitely buy this again!

So, we will start, as all good stories do, at the beginning.The installation was straight forward, simply attach a bracket to the ceiling box. That part was easy. The part that I struggled with was, and this may have been my fault, I did not see a place on that bracket to let the ceiling fan hang while I wired it. Other ceiling fans that I have installed have a hook to allow you to hang the engine from (in this case, the entire fan assembly) while you are performing the wiring. This turned out to be a little bit of a pain, but I eventually got it done.The fan itself is glorious. On low, in my small office, it provides plenty of air movement. Having four lights provides a great deal of light, and I am going to need to get 40W equivalent bulbs instead of the 60W - it is just too bright for my liking, so keep in mind that four lights are on the fan, size your bulbs accordingly. Speaking of the lights, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the arms that hold the lights are adjustable. I thought it a nice touch to be able to move them slightly to keep the bulbs centered.The fan is a little noisy, but not horrible. About the same as a small metal fan that I was using in the room on the floor. This is definitely not as quiet as a larger 44" or 52" fan which I also have in my house.Overall, I would recommend this ceiling fan.

First one was missing the installation components and the remote, but the second one had everything. Was easy to put up and looks great.

This fan looks nice and quietly puts out a lot of air but it is an absolute BEAR to install.1. There is no assist hook to hold it while the wiring is completed - we managed to rig up an assist by using zip ties through the grid work. Not ideal!2. The wire nuts are too small for the size of the wires so they will dislodge the one of the wires as they are tightened, breaking the connection. Luckily, my professional electrician cousin who did the install for me had an assortment of wire nuts in his toolbox so we were able to overcome that issue.3. The ceiling mounting plate is flimsy and warped, so that when the fan is inserted into one of the holding slots, the other side of the plate rocks out of position and it is virtually impossible to position the other side of the fan into the slot on the opposite side. It took sheer muscle, and a lot of patience and a few adult words, to get it positioned so that all of the mounting screws could be inserted.My recommendation is that unless you have a professional installer, with a heart of gold and lots of patience and ingenuity- you should probably buy another fan.

For this price I would expect light bulbs...it comes with none as the title says. But the other 6 fans that I installed in my new house are better quality fans and came with lights. There is not separate wiring from the lights so if you want to use the switch on the wall, you can power down or turn on the entire unit only. The remote did not come with any fastener. Luckily I do all of my own "stunts" around the house so I had some kicking around. The unit is also not as "whisper quiet" as they will leave you to believe. If you have the space for a larger fan, you can get better air flow at lower fans speeds that will not make the noise this thing will. I may end up returning it if my daughter finds it too loud to sleep with. Unfortunately I am stuck with using a small fan because of the ridiculously large prince castle bed my wife got for the kid's room is too tall and a normal fan would be sweeping right across the sleeping space; sitting up would probably cause interface between my daughter's head and the fans blades.

Installed in less than an hour. Good looking. Quiet. Safe.
