I purchased this alarm clock because my phone's alarm wasn't quite cutting it. I usually hit snooze a few too many times. I figured I would try this classic style alarm clock so it would be louder and I would not be able to hit snooze. Tried out the alarm clock to see how loud it would be prior to actually relying on it to wake me up in the morning. I noticed it was very loud and startling. I decided I would place the alarm clock in my bathroom, from my test run, I knew it was definitely loud enough to wake me up even when in another room, and I also knew that I would be forced to get out of bed to turn it off.The next morning the alarm went off, I was so jolted awake and was terrified for a split second. The alarm is extremely loud even in another room, the sound and volume was quite distressing to wake up to. I'm pretty sure my neighbor was awakened by the alarm as well, as it could be heard through the common wall between our apartments. So, ultimately it did the job, not only was I awake I was alert, primarily due to how I was startled awake. There was no way I would have gone back to sleep after that. Although the alarm clock worked, I don't think I will use it again. I could not handle the volume and startling effect. However, I will keep it as a clock. The clock itself works well, it keeps time well. The second hand does not tick, it spins slowly and continuously, so it does not make any noise. The light button works well, it only stays on as long as you hold the button down. There is no way to have the light stay on. Also, the clock only requires one AA battery.

Alarm clock came today and as a lot of reviewers stated it is loud! Good that is what I wanted and needed. A loud alarm clock so I don't miss important appointments. My gosh for under $12.00 I got an attractive well made bedside alarm clock. Shipping was fast. Small enough to fit in the space I had chosen for it. Love the sweeping 2nd hand and the light button when it's dark. How could I go wrong. Amazon does it again. Came through with a great clock at a very affordable price. Would buy again. Oh the best part? It runs on one double A battery. I didn't want an electric clock. What good is that if the power goes out? Yep covered all my bases. Now a good night's sleep without worrying about waking up on time.

The clock I received was either broken, possessed, or both. I could never get it to work correctly, even after trying the suggestions posted by other buyers. It never went off at the set time, and a couple times it went off at completely random times and scared the living daylights out of me. Provided some unexpected chuckles for a few days, but unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for in an alarm clock.

Only takes a few days for the time to be off by an hour. Separately, the time hands move as a result of changing the alarm time. And the two narrow legs don't serve well to keep the alarm upright. The bell itself is fine. The light is ok.

The person I gave it too, loved it. Said it’s loud enough to wake her zombie butt up.I had one of these clocks back in the day. The thing weighed five pounds (I may be exaggerating a bit), being that it was made of solid thick metal. That thing would wake everyone on the block. Too bad, things aren’t made as hardy as they were back in the day. I swear the clock I had wouldn’t be crushed under a tanks threads. This clock however is lightweight. Very lightweight. That’s the downside. It’s easy to topple over as you turn off the buzzer.

I really dont think you will get a clock for this price that is well designed. The clock is sturdy, alarm is super loud for heavy sleepers. And my favorite function is the second hand movement that ticks like a Rolex, (there is no ticking sound). My only small pet peeve is if u want to set the alarm for 1215, probably won't be able to. Only hours and half hours does it work well. So 4 stars it is

It is so much easier to set alarm times than the digital clocks. I just love that aspect. If I want to take a nap it just takes an instant to reset the alarm to wake me in 30 minutes or an hour. The alarm is loud enough to wake me, a major concern since I am a heavy sleeper.The only thing I do not like is that the 9 volt batteries have to be replaced more often than I thought they would

I wanted a really loud alarm I could not sleep through, and this did the trick. It’s so loud in fact that I keep it in another room. It does it’s job. Good price.
