Not worth the money
If you prospect for gold, it will not work. It barely picks anything up, unless you are practically touching it. This is actually for all metals. Dont waste your money, buy a good one.

It's a metal detecting pinpointer.
Stud finder... coin finder... multi purpose tool.It works when it wants to, sometimes it beeps at random when no metal is there...However... to get you started.. this will work.Worth about $10-20.

Bulvack pinpointer
Works just as good as the high end name brand pinpointers that cost a hundred dollars more. Would recommend to any one as it is very easy to use.
