If you have a computer controlled washer that won’t latch, it also won’t run. This latch is inexpensive and works well. Easy to replace. I recommend.

Instant fix!
My GE washer wasn’t cycling through properly. Lots of “clicks” between powering off and trying to reset. YouTube indicated 70% of time it’s the lid switch. Gambled on replacing the lid switch before buying a used washer and it worked. $13 instead of $200. Easy to install if patient. Awesome end to problems.

Saved us hundreds of dollars. The fix was so easy. Took me less than 5 minutes.
Our 2yr old high-end GE washer kept stopping in the middle of cycles and it seemed the lid either came unlocked or the sensor didn't recognize lid was down. Of course, warranty expired a month previously.I called a local certified repair shop that wanted $75 for a service call to diagnose and then parts and labor on top of that with a min 1 hour labor. So $150, even if it was a simple reset or anything.I watched some Youtube videos and several said GE washers are infamous for the lid sensor going bad and because my washer has all the bells and whistles that bypassing could damage the mother board. So the recommendation was to replace the Lid Lock Switch and the walkthrough looked easy.It was so easy and the cost of this part was less than $15.00. I can't believe how easy this was and washer has been working perfectly since I replaced.

Didn’t function properly at the end of first wash
Fit very tight, but worked. Until the wash was complete then it wouldn’t unlock. Had to turn the washer on and off a bunch of times to get it to release. Next I couldn’t close it because the lock was engaged. I got 3 loads done since it arrived days ago, now it is back to “close lid” and has failed. I don’t expect a lot out of $13, but I expect it function properly if I’m buying it. What a POS. Hoping they send another and it actually lasts. GE part has superseded and sounds like it requires re wiring the connector (no big deal) but I’d like to wash my clothes no work on my washer. Boo this part.. booooooo
