Cheap junk
Simple instructions, insert battery (needed to release balls one at a time), upper ring and ramp support. It worked Once on my kitchen table then I was chasing balls bouncing on the tile floor. Then I tried it on my coffee table... Not one made it to the top. Before any comments I tried minor adjustments and after about 30 attempts stopped. BTW just wood on the base top ring is plastic. Once you turn it on a annoying motor sound then the battery door didn't fit... I hope this stops your purchase because you will do what I'm doing returning it.

Does not meet expectations
I liked the idea: I bought one without reading the reviews. I set it up without reading the reviews. I was befuddled by the necessary use of a AA battery as I thought perpetual meant using the force of gravity is propel items without the use of human touch. I was able to get this to work, not 100% of the time however. I made many adjustments to the metal rails without the help of the worthless instructions. As I said, I adjusted it to achieve some success. It will shoot ball down the rails and successfully propel the steel ball back to the loading hopper. Using all the balls at once is not recommended, two is ideal. The electrical motor puts a pretty mean backspin on the steel balls so if they don’t land perfectly they’ll bounce and backspin off the landing surface. The landing hopper is made of plastic and the steel balls bounce quite a bit. With two steel balls in use I was able to get some consistent runs, 24 bring the longest of balls drop, launch and return sequences. Sometimes the launcher will shoot the ball straight down or down and then forward into the next county.Meh, not satisfied, expected more from this desk toy. More meh at the $37 price tag. Then I read the reviews, holy cow! No one could get to work with any consistency what’s so ever?! I feel better about my experience with this toy then. Hindsight being what it is, I don’t recommend buying this desktop toy unless you are patient and don’t expect any consistent performances from it.Peace and good luck everyone.

Doesn't work
This just simply does not work. The ball does not land on the landing platform. The machine spits it out too hard. It lands in the proper place about 40% of the time. The rest of the time it lands to the side.

Poor quality/WAY overpriced!!
No damage to the box but the toy was bent out of shap.. not sure if it was a damaged return that was repackaged or just poor workmanship with seriously blind Quality Control. Took me a while to get the rail adjusted so the balls don't go zipping off to the side. Going to take more tedious bendingto get the ball to complete the loop. looks the the rail wire was bent buy hand without a Jig or Die.. VERY SLOPPY and inconsistent.. I understand it's a cheap toy but considering it's simplicity of the parts and concept, it shouldn't need to be messed with so much just to get it to work correctly..

Just nah
I bought this thinking it was going to be really cool and mystical looking and was going to watch what would seem like an endless loop of perpetual motion. I thought it would have been subtle in the way that it would propel the balls but it was not. The top is where a battery goes and a loud motor is also present which throws off the whole image. I was hoping to have it on my desk and have it going on in the background but it was loud and even after adjusting the track it still didn’t land where needed to keep it going. Save the money and do some research and find a better one.

Battery Opperated
I bought this thinking it was not battery operated. Turns out it is. If you have some simple basic sense this is easy to tune and make work well. I have it on my office desk in a cube, and it does make noise. I probably would not buy the same one if I was going to buy it again. I would but a more expensive one probably.

Disappointed with the quality
I was very disappointed with this product. The round platform is plastic! not wood. And it requires a battery! How can it be perpetual motion device when it requires a battery that will at some point die!?! I've seen these in magazines and other media locations, but I guess I picked the wrong one to buy! Rethink your choice before buying this product!!!

Fun for my grandson
We had trouble getting the ball to return. It continues to fly across the room instead of into the top of the mechanism.
