I intend to use this to modify a Gimbal for use with a rifle. I need to move my balance point further back, and this will be the base of the modification that I will be fabricating an adaptor plate for. The part is larger than I expected, which is good for me, and it feels robust enough to hold the large rifle it will hold without any issues.

This pair is constructed and finished well, like most of the others in the low-cost end of this category. In my case, I needed a 100mm to 120mm Arca plate with longer spacing of the mounting slots, and have one single slot on either side of the center mounting hole, than have the 2 or 3 slot types seen on other plates. I could have had someone machine out the other types, but what's the point when this set is available at a good price.As others have noted, the longer adjustment rod on the locking screw can be helpful when you really need extra clearance. The one possible issue that might become a problem later, is the positioning of the slot that the clamping piece slides into. It feels a bit off center and a little wobbly until it's tightened. It may not wear very well over time.The threads used on the 2 attachment screws are 3/8-16, and not the 1/4-20 threads you would expect for a standard/modern camera mount. They can be replaced easily enough, but be prepared to make some adjustments if your camera or cage need the smaller size. The attachment holes come with the screw-in adapters to make the 3/8 holes into 1/4 sized ones, so they can be removed if you need the larger sizes for those.

This is the best Swiss Arca Plate assembly that I have purchased. I own two (2 ea) now and will need another soon. This is the "Good Stuff"

I guess, if I had my druthers about what bubble level to include on this particular 'extended platform' type of platform, I would have picked the other one on par with the platform itself instead of the 'portrait' one. Because I don't really see myself ever using this sliding, extended platform's portrait one. BUT, I see myself using this platform, actually, more of the time, because of its versatility. Do not let the fact that it only has one level on it deter you from purchasing this!!! It's GREAT! And it really does have an ability to slide it to & fro quite a bit along with amply offering the fastening a mounting ring, camera and the such securely! Even if it had been without a bubble level, this would have been my favorite & easiest one to use. It's heavy metals & not plastic, & and its ease of use is great. I'm absolutely glad I took a chance on it. It fits almost all of my tripods (sheeze, I've got 6, 7, or 8 of 'em [who knows], even fits the one's from the 80's!!!) And remember, 90% of cameras nowadays have internal onboard software for leveling your pictures. Now, I like a physical bubble to look at, but still. You'll like it. I also bought that other Utebit small circular one, too, and it's almost just as good as this one and does have the two bubble levels to look at.

UTEBIT 120mm Quick Release Plate - This is just what you're looking for to make the Manfrotto 502 fluid head into an Arca Swiss quick release system. Everything you want is in this design. It has great fit, form, and function. Heavy duty construction. Precision machining. Long reach tightening knob that is the perfect length. Many possible scenarios for mounting. It mounts right on top of the Manfrotto mount so that everything can stay original. The only problem was with the clearance under the adjustable side of the clevis once it was tightened against the rubber pads on the mount. Pressing the rubber pad to tighten made the rail ride on the rubber and prevented the rail from opening as smoothly as it should. I put a couple layers of tape under the unit and then remounted it and everything worked perfectly! This makes my setup so much nicer! I can highly recommend this product.
