Good value for the price.
TOPDON is one of the new guys on the block. These tools are Launch variants. In fact, when I first powered it up and went to the update menu on the tool it pointed to the Launch site. The printed materials have the correct URL. After updating the tool the update information changed to the correct TOPDON stuff. I have heard a lot of good things about TOPDON customer service on the professional level tooling.I got this consumer level tool just to see how it compared to similar tools kicking around my toolbox. In the picture is an Actron-OTC variant 3209N, TOPDON AL600, and a Launch Creader VIII. Both of the competitors are a few years old. All three tools can read global, ABS, and SRS(airbag). The TOPDON being Launch based is laid out and works about the same as the Creader. Both have free lifetime updates. The Creader was more expensive and provides OEM engine data PIDS, while the TOPDON and Actron only have global engine data PIDS. The Creader can do brake maintenance resets and the TOPDON does not, but the TOPDON does battery registration and the Creader does not. Both Launch based tools can do oil and SAS resets. The Actron cannot do any resets or services and does not include any useful free updates. It cost more than the TOPDON but less that the Creader.Pros:-Easy to use-Familiar Launch interface-Snappy performance compared to the Creader-Battery registration-Lifetime free updates-Hot keys for global codes, reset codes, and IM readinessCons:-NO OEM engine data pids.-Some of the button labels in the software do not match the hardware.-The branding in the update function of that tool is wrong and still points to Launch site instead of the Topdon update site. This may already be fixed as a running change.I am an ASE L1,L3 master tech with 25 years exp. Our shop has 6 figures worth of scan tools from Snapon (overpriced for what you get IMHO), Autel, Launch, Autologic, Auto Enginuity, OTC, as well as OEM's. This review is just my honest opinion. Hopefully I will get my hands on some higher level TOPDON tooling I can review soon.Update 6/27/22 - I originally gave this unit 4 stars, however it has since become a hit in the shop because of how quickly it can clear code and check monitors. I have now upgraded it to five stars.

Easy to use
Use it on newer BMW that wants you to go pay 95 dollars just to "look at" the problem. This tool tells them the problem and it takes a few minutes. Save the 95 see what the problem is yourself. It clears up warnings for oil changes, any minor air bag issues, and any other things you may be able to fix on your own.

Nice Scanner
I bought this scanner to troubleshoot the airbags that I suspected it was an impact sensor in the front. I was able to scan and find out it was a passenger airbag in the seat loop being open. The scanner was able to identify which loop the airbag was and check the resistance. Come to find out it was only a loose plug. I was able to watch the resistance change by moving my seat and it lowered when I made a better plug connection. Well worth the money on the scanner.

Great scanner Code Reader - Accurate and easy to use.
I was having a problem with my Catalytic Converters coding 420 every other day. I had been reseting the code with the free reader supplied by Autozone (I had to drive there each time) (I have 202,000 miles on my 2021 Dodge Grand Caravan). Buying and using the TOPDON AL600 OBD2 Scanner I was able to determine that one converter was bad. The dealer diagnosis on their, more expensive equipment, verified the diagnostic numbers I was getting on both converters and they agreed that only one would need to be replace. Before I had thought to purchase this reader, I had checked with two repair centers that told me both Catalytic Converters would need to be replace. This $100 reader saved me $1800! I had the dealer do the repair because the "major chain" centers gave me very incorrect information. I will be keeping this for use with my three cars and to help friends who may get codes.
