I installed the unit last night. there's more settings to optimize than you'd expect, but glad it's made this way so one can configure it to suit their preferences.I ended up connecting to the receiver's adapter out jacks since I was using the Tape Play jacks for the input of other components to the receiver and did not want to risk they would interfere with the Tape Rec out jacks I would have had to use instead.The peak hold time and main fall time adjustments of the analyzer make the most pronounced differences in the visual display behavior. With the settings provided you can create many drastically different visual displays. You will definitely not feel restricted on the numerous choices.I was thrilled that the rack attachment brackets are optional and leaving them off makes the unit about 2 inches narrower and look much better when not using a rack. It would not have fit into the ideal location for it in my cabinet had those rack ears been fixed to the unit.I'm 100% satisfied with the unit now that I have it dialed in. If you've been considering adding dancing lights to your system I highly recommend this unit.

The media could not be loaded. I was a little worried that it would change the sound , fortunately it didn’t, great addition to my system , thanks

Delivered on time, once I open the package was pleased to see how nice it was protected. I'm using XLR cable to run into my other Audio equipment, once hooked up I didn't notice any significant amount of signal loss,etc. The LED lights are bright green and very accurate display in real time shown on the front face. I would buy another, hopefully the price will be cheaper next time I believe the price is little hight but other than that it's a wonderful product for anyone wanting a spectrum analyzer

Input is from my 31 band EQ, and the output goes to a line converter and then to an unbalanced amp input. I’m using this with balanced connections and I hear no noise introduced by the device which is good. The LED display seemed to flicker a bit for the first several minutes of use, and haven’t really seen it since. It is very accurate. You might not think so at first glance, testing with a tone generator. The default setting is “smooth” which activates the frequency indicators adjacent to the one that is actually playing. Switching to “real” turns this off. Visually I do sort of prefer the smooth setting. I primarily got this to monitor for clipping so I could see which frequencies were responsible, and modify my EQ settings accordingly. Using my EQ I was able to set the clip point accurately. The one gripe I would have about this SA is that the sensitivity dial adjusts a set range of amplitude measurement up and down. So basically you adjust the min and max at the same time. So if you’re listening to very dynamic music with the clipping point set correctly, the SA may not display anything for awhile, even during what I would consider not-so-quiet portions of the music. I would much prefer to be able to set the min/max points separately. There is a switch on the back the can “compress” the amplitude displayed allowing you to adjust it to be able to see more of the frequency activity, but then it will not display clipping — completely defeating the purpose of the device for me. Overall, I would say if you feel like you need it for what I did, then perhaps it’s worth it. If it’s just for a light show, it’s way too expensive. If the mfg would make the one change I suggest, it would be a completely stellar product.

I had one knob pushed in too far on the unit but it did not affect the unit what so ever. It works, its great, I would buy it again. price is a bit high for what it does but I wanted it.
