Natural and Super Useful!
This sphagnum moss is fantastic! It’s natural, sustainably harvested, and so easy to use. After soaking, it becomes soft and holds moisture really well. I use it mainly for air layering and plant propagation, and it works perfectly every time. The quality is great, and it helps my plants grow strong roots. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable moss for gardening!

Great quality moss!
I was apprehensive when purchasing this moss, because to me it felt pricey for a growing medium. After buying some sphagnum moss from my local hardware store and comparing the quality of that to this, I can tell you there is a major difference quality and performance in this moss than in that crappy $7 bag.The cheap stuff is smelly and pretty dirty, i had to give that stuff a good rinse outside before using it on my plants and i really regret using it because i feel the moisture retention is not great. Waste of $$ and time! This stiff expands wonderfully and has a nice clean natural smell. Once it fully expanded i was able to make a few 24” moss poles and still have some left over. I would recommend this and will buy again.

Terrific product
I was pleasantly surprised. There is a LOT of moss with small sections that were still GREEN. So you know it's fresh. Much better than any of the bagged moss that I've purchased from nurseries.

It's NOT 32 QT's rehydrated!!!
First & foremost...It is NOT 32 QT when rehydrated, it is about 6-8 QT, which is about the same quantity I get from a premium product that costs about 50% more, so still not a bad deal...After rereading the product description, I noticed that it's stating it's 32 QT before drying & compressing. at any rate, it's roughly enough to assemble one 6 foot moss pole with a bit of extra left over. And, as other reviews have noted, it does have a "swampy" odor...which, it is a swamp plant, harvested from a swampy growing area!!! I'm assuming the odor is just from it not having been overly washed prior to drying & compressing...it's not so strong as to be offensive, but it's noticeable. Not sure if I would want to use it in a terrarium or animal habitat, that odor being enclosed in a tank would definitely get to me!!! All in all, not a terrible product & perfectly fine for my moss poles!!!

Great Moss!
I don’t generally leave reviews, but this moss has impressed me with the quantity and quality. I ordered online since I couldn’t find any decent quality sphagnum moss locally. I had 12+ Nepenthes the repot, plus several orchids. I still have quite a bit of moss left after all of that, plus too dressing some other plants and germinating Nepenthes seed as well. This moss has been super clean without twigs, sticks, or pine straw in it. The thing that really impressed me was that I decided to attempt my hand at love sphagnum and used this as a substrate for the live pieces I had. Most of my moss has turned back green with the introduction of the live moss and I’m crossing my fingers to see some new growth soon. 10/10 I will definitely buy again

Perfect for moss poles/plant propegation!
This stuff is great! Don't be worried about how small and condensed the package is, it fluffs up really quick with some water! Retains moisture nicely, and the moss is great. No large sticks, just some nice fluffy moss!

mold, worst moss, bugs, foul odor
I purchased this for my gecko’s egg-laying setup, and it’s by far the worst moss I’ve ever used. Upon opening, white powder fell out and tiny bugs started crawling out. I tried rinsing it, but as soon as it touched water, it emitted an indescribably foul odor. After soaking it overnight, I woke up to find it covered in white mold.

High quality
What impressed me most was the overall quality of this product. It smells like a northeast forest - fresh and full of vitality. The size of the pieces are quite large and consistent. No trash. Nothing undesirable. I used it to make moss poles for my climbing plants but I wouldn’t hesitate to use it in a terrarium or amphibian habitat. It costs more but worth it.
