This may be the missing link to lasting life changes!
I bought the Kindle version of this the minute I received an email that it was available. I've read all of Stephen Guise's prior books and they've been among the most influential reads in my life. The first one, Mini Habits, I read I was in my late 50s and followed with Mini Habits for Weight Loss and How To Be an Im-perfectionist. I'm in my mid 60s now and can say that Stephen's books have been a catalyst for lots of positive changes in my life (weight loss, much improved fitness, more confidence, etc). This stuff just works. I've already read all of The Magic of Momentum and it does not disappoint either! I love how Stephen comes from new and relatively unexplored angles of habits and self-improvement. He's got me looking at things in whole new ways. The thing is, he makes these concepts simple and relatable. Using simple tools like analog wind up timers and magnetic white boards to make doing the things that support your values simple and almost no-brainer actions, you can create momentum in many different areas of your life. Before you know it, and little by little, your life and outlook (or closet, desk, weight, scattered to-do list) improves! And that gives you MORE momentum! It's like magic.Just get the book!

Fundamentally Profound
I read 'The Magic of Momentum' immediately after 'Mini-Habits for Weight Loss'. Stephen writes in a logical, concise, entertaining & humourous way. His advice is brilliant & fundamentally profound. If there are only two weight loss books you ever read in your life, make them these two. On the subject of life - Stephen's books change the readers. Now, on to 'Elastic Habits' & then anything else Stephen has ever written!

Simplifies a timeless message
This book is wonderful. As someone who has been a lifelong self-help junkie, I have come to realize that action and execution over time really are keys to success. Yet, like everyone I struggle to actually execute over the long haul. Because of this understanding I have gravitated toward books like "the slight edge", "the compound effect", "straight line execution" and "The one thing" as they allow me to keep the idea that little things done over time lead to success fresh in my mind. This book is a welcome addition to that concept and masterfully written. This book approaches execution in a way I've never read before.. Like all books about execution, this has the ability to change your life - if you actually do what it says. While I do not know if this will be the master key to all my struggles - it will certainly be included in the books I read time and again.

Literally Life Changing
Momentum changes everything. Einstein called compounding the 8th wonder of the world. The hardest part is most often getting started (which was addressed in a previous magnificent book by the same author called Mini Habits).Stephen does a magnificent job of not only breaking down the concept-but more importantly, providing actionable advice.Highly recommended this quick read.

Another home run by Stephen Guise
Great book with incredible advice, that brings a brand new perspective on using the power of momentum to improve your life and build long term habits. I really wish I could give it five-stars but he adds so many little 'jokes' (they're not funny at all) between meaningful and insightful paragraphs that it distracts from the main point. He's a terrific author but he's a terrible comedian, wish he would just stick to the point and stop trying to be funny. If you haven't read Mini Habits yet, pick that up first, that's a true masterpiece.

Take the first action to success and read this book
For transparency, this is the fourth book by Stephen Guise that I have read. Mini Habits for Weightloss and Elastic Habits were game changers in how I approached the things I wanted to change in my life. How to Be an Imperfectionist and The Magic of Momentum shifted my mindset about changes, habits, and honestly, life in general. For reference, I thought about working out A LOT previously but rarely did it because I was caught up in doing it "when I had enough time to do a real workout," "when I had the right workout clothes on," or "when I figured out what workout I loved so much I never had to make myself do it." Well, that extremely specific, and frankly, unrealistic unicorn moment came only 2-3 times over the past two years. The Magic of Momentum finally made all of the pieces click together for me, and in just the six weeks since I read it, I have performed an exercise-focused mini habit (and often far more than the mini) every single day. Without fail and without any drama. Sure, I might have done some silly looking kettlebell swings in my jeans, or did a few dance moves in my pajamas before getting ready for work, but the point is that I did them. I moved my body in new and fun ways that benefit me both mentally and physically. I am not running to the gym hyped for a 30-minute sweatfest yet, but I can already tell my relationship with exercise and movement is changing for the better. I have learned to embrace life by prioritizing action over motivation and isn't living life by doing things kind of the point? One final note, Stephen spends a far too short section talking about his To Do List method and if I could get a vote on the topic of his next book, it would be this. Using a small whiteboard (his is pretty big, but I am able to do the same thing in a much smaller space) with some small dry-erase magnets has transformed my day-to-day and I now stack up daily wins like the New England Patriots win super bowls. I am able to prioritize the things that are truly important to me without getting sidetracked or mowed over by all the other things that can come up in any given day. I am more productive where it matters most to me, long neglected projects are finally getting done, and I approach every day as an opportunity to take action toward the life I actually want to live. I cannot speak highly enough about this short section of greatness in what is an all around great book. Read it, you won't regret it.
