Yes, you do need this to install the EVO-All
Purchased to install 2 of the EVO-All systems in my cars. I wasn't sure from reading online if I needed this part when I ordered it, but I was glad I did. It is essential for installation. I did both EVOs including a RF642W 2-way remote kit to extend the range on one of them. The whole install probably took about 4 hours.

Seems to me that this little unit is just a way to get more money out of people. Yes it works but you can only program a hand of of times before it locks up. Company could easily download specs before sending unit. And if you want to do customizes then you could buy this.

It's a little weird to "rate" this because if you need it you need it... there's no choice. But having said that, it does its job just fine, and Fortin's documentation and support are good.

Used only once
This is an amazing Flash Link if you install Fortin car alarms on a regular basis. For me it made no sense to keep because i only needed it one time just to toggle and up date my stand alone fortin once that was done there was no need for it

I purchased a car starter that was said to have "Preloaded firmware" for a specific vehicle, after install it turns out that it was not "preloaded" I had to buy this rip off one time use cord for an unexpected added cost. I requested a return for the starter with no reply from seller, it's in now and works but this has been the worst Amazon experience to date.
