The Best Translation
Generally, I do not rate items as five stars since that means the product far exceeded my expectations. Many reviewers rate an item as five stars simply because it meets their expectations, but that is a three-star rating for me.I have to give this Cambridge edition a rare five-star rating. The translation is fantastic, the introduction is superb, and the notes are above average. By far, this is the best translation of the work, and it is worth the extra money you will spend.

Great Introduction to Schopenhauer's Philosophy
Excellent introduction into Schopenhauer's philosophy written by the philosopher himself. A must read. S. was not kidding when he said that in order to properly understand The World as Will you have to first read On the Fourfold Root.Word of caution: stay away from most "interpreters" of Schopenhauer, first of all from Young. The master was always hated in academia, and this hatred persists to this day. If you want general introduction, read my fellow Oxonian Brian Magee. Either him, or Schopenhauer himself. The latter is the best option, naturally.
