This book provides easy to follow, step by step instructions that make even a novice look good! If you like One Block Wonder OBW quilts, this is a must have for your library!

I've not made this pattern for many years, but I was inspired to do so recently. First I made 9 kaleidescopes and set them individually for a charity quilt. Then I made a large lap quilt in the usual setting, plus with the cubes that appear to rise off the surface. I'm now making another larger one in purples. They are fun to make. They look difficult and intricate, but they are easy to make.

This is a great book! I checked out all 3 books and found this one to be the best for me. Book one has the basics and is great for a beginner and book 3 is very artistic, book 2 had all the techniques of book 3 just a little more subdued for my taste. The pictures are encouraging and the directions are easy to understand. I can not wait to get started since I now have my fabric and the book helps with that too!

I made a one block wonder using the original book at a retreat with the author. after telling me she thought my choice of fabric would not work very well, we were both surprised at the attractive blocks that appeared. I was fascinated by the cube idea, and included several in my first quilt. I intend to move on and make more. The directions are quite clear, but attending a workshop with an instructor is most helpful.

Loved this book. I have the book one block wonders encore. This book is even better. A lot of great ideas. Some of the concepts were not easy to grasp on the first read. Just take your time reading the instructions. All the information is there to make these amazing one of a kind quilts. Also, many suggestions for expanding on the examples given. Try different impossible shapes. Change the size of the triangles. Add unique borders.

One block Wonders Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are well written and can make you look like the quilt artist you have only dreamt of becoming. Warning - this is a very addictive technique. Once is never enough as each piece of fabric offers a whole new creation and by creating three dimensional blocks. Interestingly enough men prefer the geometry of these quilts. I've also used this technique adding hollow circles rather than cubes and voila a new look once again. This book is definitely on my "favourites" list.
