Keyboard hard to read
I just received this computer. It was a slightly used and I got a great price on it. It looked good when I received it. I don't like the keyboard, it is hard to see. The computer itself is very sleek looking. The computer is very fast i5, and that is why I bought another Asus. I have a Lenovo which still works OK but takes forever to boot up. This one you turn it on and 30 seconds later, you are on the web. The other Asus I have, has finger print ID which I really like and a lighted keyboard. This seems like a good computer, I like the speed but don't care for the keyboard.

Ran very slow
Ran slow from the start. I tried Asus's speed fixer, and ran Norton. Nothong bad found. Just a sliw laptop. After I endured a week-long (always slow) download of my files from Carbonite, the laptop had 10 second delays to open internet pages, and local apps.Had to buy another laptop...

Horrible wifi with no ethernet connection and hard to see keyboard.
Just got this and the first thing I do is look for the ethernet connection because I prefer a secure connection. I find out quickly there is none, but in the description there is nothing about no ethernet connection. The only upside to this is that I found out the wifi is faulty or non working. When I try the wifi, it is much slower than the wifi on the 10 year old laptop I am using. I try different internet speed tests and it is slower on all of them. The keyboard is grey on silver and it is hard to see without perfect lighting. This seems to be about the only model without a keyboard backlight.

Slowest new computer I've ever had.
I've had 5 ASUS laptops, from low, mid and high end in price and specs. I bought this computer due to the 12GB of ram and 17" screen and graphics card.I didnt need the extra power but it's always nice to have... But I'm using this computer for online classes (video streaming), light programming on repl and running Kali. This computer takes forever to reboot, skips and freezes and I can barely stream a video or browse the internet because it is frustratingly slow.I've toggled the performance, made sure nothing is bogging down my CPU, restarted, updated, turned off any background extras that may be running, used the ASUS diagnostics and I can't seem to get it to run smoothly or consistently.I have looked into upgrading the RAM but with 12 GBs already, I don't think it's going to do much.I'm going to contact ASUS tomorrow and see what I can do. I'll update if anything goes above 1 star.Edit:I'm adding one star for Asus Customer Service and a half a star for the computer. I sent the laptop in and they found the hard drive to be faulty. They switched it out and shipped it back, all covered under the warranty. The speed hasn't changed much but the computer is no longer freezing and I can now word process but this this is still slower than my old machines with a 1/4 of the RAM installed.
