Got it as a gift but she did like it

This model replaced a 2014 model that took its last breath last month. This new model has a much lower volume and always needs a boost. Little bit too tinny sound wise.

I stopped calling my mother because she couldn’t hear me on the phone. She was thinking I was saying things I didn’t say. We tried many phones including a phone she could read the transcript but it proved too complicated for her. I purchased this and her world has changed! Now she can hear me and we chat and joke for long calls. It has improved her outlook and is much happier. In fact, she has gone back to participating in activities at her facilities which she had skipped after some Covid restrictions were lifted. It has improved her quality of life as she feels less isolated and is able to really connect with us again.

After looking for, and not finding, phones that covered all the variables of volume and tone (for both ringer and earpiece), light up notification for incoming calls, plus had a mostly foolproof high volume default, I've been very happy to find this product. Only "problem" is the volume dial on the left of the handset is easily turned down unintentionally as that does not lock in place. I had to tape it. This phone is for a person with dementia as well as severe hearing loss and so far (two weeks now) it has worked out well.Update 5/4/2018: Wish list for the manufacturer, as I'm looking for the perfect phone for folks that are hard of hearing AND have dementia ... the volume dial on the left of the phone is easily turned down as it does not lock. Without ability to problem solve this causes great frustration. Would love a locked speaker phone setting as well. And the ringer switch on right sometimes gets turned off with fidgeters. Basically, would be great to have a totally foolproof phone where all settings are locked and not easily disrupted. Power cord could be longer too. Otherwise, still great!

Purchased for hearing impaired and she loves it. The ringer is loud enough to wake her up from a deep sleep.

My mom has now gone to live in a Nursing home. Because she has very poor hearing we were not able to contact her via phone. Because of the Pandemic and not being able to visit I was missing communicating with her. This phone has enable me to be in touch with her. It's amazing how wonderful it is just to hear the voice of the person you love and know they can hear you as well.

During the pandemic we were not allowed to visit my father in law in the nursing home, but we could do outside visits. Because he couldn't hear all we could do was wave. We got this phone and now he can hear us talk and we can have conversations again. It has worked out wonderfully.

i bought this for my elderly father thinking i could slip this in saying i bought him a better phone not telling him it is amplified (he refuses to wear hearing aids saying "that's for deaf people"). The phone is amplified but there is no way to lock the volume . there is a volume control dial but i don't see a lock. so while fumbling with the phone the volume adjusts and then it's too low for him. I tried to put the phone on auto boost but then he ways there is too much background noise. So this isn't really working out for what i had hoped it would do.
