Sketchy, but worked
I recently had to replace the turbo oil drain tube on my car and noticed that this coolant line had been seeping/leaking just a tiny bit, so I decided to change it out while I had the vehicle torn-apart.Getting this line installed is a nightmare (putting it politely). You'll have to remove the underbody/engine splash shield, catalytic converter, converter bracket, turbo oil drain tube, and then the coolant feed line just to get to it... and then you'll just barely be able to get a wrench (17mm) on it and you'll have just enough space to turn it 1/6 of a turn at a time! Needless to say, it takes some serious patience to get the old one out... and ten times that amount of patience to get the new one in there! I didn't remove a star for this reason, though (it's not the fault of this product that it's so hard to install).As far as this drain tube goes, it was identical in shape and length as the factory unit, and seemed to be well-made. It did NOT come with a gasket for the threaded side! About a year and a half ago I replaced the turbo on this car, and actually had a few extra of these gaskets handy. If I didn't have those already, it would have meant a trip to the hardware store to search for a very specific gasket (it's a copper washer with a rubber inner ring)! This is why this product gets 4 stars instead of 5. That one little gasket-washer is very important and SHOULD be included with this tube!After I installed the return line I noticed that the tube has a fair bit of play in it... I could move it side-to-side/up-down. It felt like it wasn't fully threaded into the turbo, but it was fully seated and tight. This made me VERY nervous that it would leak. As hard as this part is to get to and install, it would have been devastating if it leaked! Fortunately it seems to be holding just fine... zero leaks (I've only just done a 4-5 mile test drive on the vehicle, though). If it does leak in the future, I'll update this review.
