Makes Room Humid
Bought this intentionally just to lower the bedroom temperature for sleeping. I would have been happy with 2 degrees. What is does is just humidify the room. We have hardwood flooring but all the fabrics picked up the humidity. This is in a home with a well-functioning central AC unit. It didn't lower the temperature at all, even when using ice water in the reservoir. Had to return.Might work under different circumstances, like if you're sitting at a desk chair in a warm environment, I think the damp air will cool you while you're in front of the damp airflow.

It's not quite AC but it makes a big difference
If you need some added cooling for your home office. It's great. It kept me from needing to install another window unit. The negative reviews seem to expect too much. Be careful when putting water in the ice packs. They expand a lot. Be sure not to go over the fill line. It's pricey but if you need a boost of cool it's solid. Remote is nice. The natural mode is cool. It makes it seem like a natural breeze. I'm happy. 9/10.

Doesn't really cool
I have a room upstairs that gets a little warm during the summer that my central air conditioning just can't cool properly. I was hoping this little fan would at least bring it down a couple of degrees to make it tolerable, but it doesn't. If you feel the tray with ice water it will blow out cool air, but nothing like an air conditioner, which is what I was hoping for.The gentle hum of the motor is pretty soothing though, and that will put you to sleep.

STUCK WITH BAD UNIT
I was really hoping this would work to cool my room, but ended up having to return the unit. (1) - It was missing the cooling bottles. This wasn't too big a deal as I reached out to the company and they resolved this issue immediately. That was great. (2) - The first night I used it, I was also watching TV. I have a Vizio Smart Tv. Every I would use the TV remote to scroll up and down, or change channels, or even mute....the settings on the machine were changing with each click of the TV remote. Changing the channel "down" would turn it off, "down" again would turn it back on, etc. The volume would change the speed of the fan. The mute would change the spin action on and off. I feel like this was a huge safety issue as I could not for sure know what the settings were without getting out of bed after every click of the TV remote. I also didn't feel safe knowing if a TV remote in another room would turn it on and off when no one was in this room.Beware if you have a Vizio TV with an XRT-136 (at least that is what I currently have) remote control, it will interfere with the working of this unit.UPDATE: Paid $1.00 to get a return label mailed to me since I have no printer. Never received a return label, can't get in touch with Amazon (automated response says they received item and refund in 3-5 days, however I still have the item in the box). Stuck with unit I cannot use and cannot get a label to send back. Beware, you may not be able to return as it says.

Water tank does not hold a gallon
I just received this product today. The instruction manual provided says to pour in 3.5 liters and states that this is equivalent to one gallon. The water tank does not hold one gallon of water, at most it holds 8 cups, but it definitely can hold 7 cups. It also states to take out the entire water tank. I found it easy to remove the tank because it was empty, but placing the water tank while filled with water is cumbersome. So I decided to pull the water tank as far as it could go without removing the entire water tank and place the water in the tank along with one of the ice packs. I also used ice cold water out of the fridge and placed a few more ice cubes in the tank. I feel that will also help provide more cooling. Just a thought, may not do much in the long run. I have one room that faces west and consequently becomes the hottest room during the summer. The room now feels cooler, not ice cold, but pleasant enough to sit in or sleep in. As far as energy efficient, I honestly do not know how to rate this, but gave it a four anyway as it does cool down the room. I will say this runs more quiet than other fans I have. I would recommend this product if you are looking to cool down a room.

Not worth your time.
Saw mixed reviews for this but decided to buy it considering it was on the cheaper side of the options I was looking at. I wanted a cool room. When it arrived, I set it up & everything fairly quickly - the set up is easy. Left the fan on for a couple hours and came back, room was still the same temperature and the fan would make a sound as if it was trying to exert more coolness, and then it would turn off, and then you hear it releasing a lot of air, and then it dies down and turns off again. Wtf is that. Anyways it sucks, doesn’t even cool the room. Will be returning so don’t waste your time with this.

So glad I bought this evap cooler
I live in the desert - Phoenix - and wanted to get something to help cool the house that would be economical, as my whole-house a/c is very expensive to run. This unit was larger than the little table-top units, was selling at a good price, had good reviews and delivery within 2 days, so I bought it. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. The bladeless feature means it is easy on the electricity use, using the ice packs that come with it makes the water cool and refreshing, and the 3-speed fan is quiet and yet stirs up a really good breeze.

Spend $50 more and buy a window AC
I got this bc I hate ugly window AC units and wanted to be able to move this between our bedroom and office.I read every review on ever fan like this but sadlt, this glorified fan doesn’t cut it for the heat of this summer. I don’t know how people are saying it cools effectively because even with the ice packs that come and more ice cubes, it’s still blowing just-cooler-than-luke-warm air out. Definitely not powerful enough to cool even a small room. I ended up just buying a window unit too so this is now just a minorly helpful and expensive fan.Save yourself the trouble in this heat wave summer and splurge on a real AC unit or swamp cooled.
