Garmin... Forever the BEST there is
Now I want to preface this with the Tactix 7 is overkill for the regular person. This is more geared for ODA's/Special Forces personnel and operators. If you want a quality smart watch the Garmin Fenix 7 is much cheaper and very similar in some ways.Working with ODA's I needed something that was rugged and could handle the harsh, hot, sandy, and nasty environments I work in. A watch that was able to take a beating and continue to working as if it liked it. The Tactix 7 was the watch. As soon as it came out I began researching and absolutely loved it. The only thing that was stopping me was the price point. $1600 for the Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics was a bit steep for a watch. But I knew I needed something that was sturdy and able to be used in harsh sunlight like my Garmin Instinct Solar. I drink a few to many beers one day and gave in. 2 days later I had my brand new Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics in my hands. And as I looked down on it, and it looked up at me I knew it was a bond that would last forever. As my shedded tears fell onto the watch face they rolled off like punches when I try to kill a camel spider. The watch has a beautiful design, made with great qualityIt is solar powered (it will probably not charge the watch but will keep it from dying faster)It has a built in LED light that is useful for finding my phone at night so I can use its LED lightHas all the Garmin Connect features like Body Battery and Training Readiness on the watchIt is touch screen as well as button only use, your choice, I use bothIt is just a very well put together product and if you work in an industry like mine it is worth the money.10/10 product. I recommend buying. If you have a use for it.

Great watch
I absolutely love my Garmin Tactix 7 Pro Ballistic Solar Watch. It's a substantial upgrade with its DLC coated titanium case and enhanced sensor array. The 1.4-inch touchscreen, though not as bright as some rivals, offers intuitive navigation. One standout feature is its solar charging capability, extending the battery life impressively. It supports over 30 sports activities, boasts precise GPS tracking, and includes a handy ballistic calculator. I'm particularly fond of the customizable watch faces, allowing me to switch styles based on my activity or mood. While it's packed with features and customizable options, getting the hang of all its functionalities requires a bit of time. This watch is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a durable and versatile timepiece for outdoor and tactical use.

Waiting paid off big.
For a over a year I was waiting for the Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics to be reduced in price. Just before Christmas 2024 it happened in a big way. 33% off? I pushed buy it now so fast! There are a couple of important details you need to know.1) This watch has the MIP screen, not the Amoled. Because of this, it consumes less battery power, especially when outdoors in the bright sun because this type of screen doesn't need to be back lit and the Amoled would be consuming more power because the brightness would have to be raised considerably higher to view the screen.2) because it's not Amoled it doesn't have the bright colors some people prefer. If you are going to be using this outside during the day and one of your requirements are good battery life, the MIP version, for most people is preferable. If you prefer the Amoled then you need to purchase the Tactix 7 Amoled which does not come with the ballistics software included like this unit does. The Tactix 7 Amoled supports the ballistics app but has to be purchased separately.3) The solar isn't meant for charging the unit, it's simply meant to help slow the discharge rate. It's nothing like a Casio solar watch that relies solely on the sun to charge it and does so efficiently.4) The Tactix 7 Amoled has the next generation HR detection when worn on your wrist. This unit reads really well, but is a previous generation. I use a chest strap HR detector which can be used with this unit and is better than both generations of HR detection. It responds to heart rate fluctuations immediately, where wrist worn detection is slower to respond. This unit has everything I wanted in a watch because I love cardio training, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding and shooting long range.Like I mentioned, look at both models closely before purchasing because there are several differences. I just so happened to prefer this model.

Didnt know how I did it without it…
Absolutely insane that Ive gone so long without one of these. An absolutly awesome piece of equipment, does absolutely everything you can think of and more.Monitors and tells me my sleep, tracks my runs, tells me how to recover, strength training, and if you want this model can store ballistic profiles and DOPE.My DOPE was good for the match I just went to, recommend the Range Card setting, easy to cycle through for different ranges rather than the first screen you can use.Compared to my Kestrel/verified DOPE it was only off 0.1mils at 800+ yards.Again. This thing is amazing, worth every penny, battery life is also wild. The picture is me tracking and essentially looking at how my heart rate was doing during the stage at the shooting match. Device allows me to see when I need to lower my heartrate, focus on breathing, while also checking my dope.
