Brilliant device, apparent high-quality yet inexpensive and simple
The instructions are a little sketchy but after some time I was able to figure it out to work on my network. Knowing what I know now, I could unbox a new one and have it running in about 2-3 minutes. The device itself is remarkable - it’s whisper quiet when it’s panning and scanning, and what I hadn’t seen mentioned elsewhere is that while viewing from your smart phone, you can swipe to move the camera remotely and also spread and pinch to zoom the image.I do have an issue with the IR turning on and off every 10 seconds which began on the 2nd day and I’ve seen others have that issue so I’ll investigate it soon. While on the subject, it has great clarity and range in an absolutely dark room with zero light in it.An important aspect of the installation that was not in my instruction booklet was how to set it up from a PC. If you know how to check your router and look for connected devices, look for a device named IPCAM and from there you can see the IP address issued to the camera. Using a web browser, type that IP address into the URL bar and now you can, IMO, more easily set up your camera with its built-in web interface. I'll save you some time searching for info missing from the booklet: The camera's login is 'admin' and the password is also 'admin' without the quotes. Change the password once you get in to prevent others from gaining access to your camera easily. If you’re unsure how to find it’s IP, just google search for ‘TENVIS search tool’ and you’ll find their previous-gen software which still works fine on this device. It found my camera in about 2 seconds and displayed its IP which you can then use in a PC web browser to more easily set up your camera. The web interface also includes a hyperlink to download their ClientPlus_Setup software however I was unable to see that software do anything on my Windows 10 PC.Regarding the complaints about it not including an SD, which it states in the description that it does not include, TENVIS has nonetheless included a card in the box redeemable for a free 32 GB SD Card which should be good for about 15 days of recording per their guideline of a 128 GB card holding 60 days of video. It’s so simple, easy to set up and use, and of apparent high quality that I intend to buy several more for around the house.I will update this review if any difficulties arise, to report ongoing trouble-free use, and to also report on the reliability of, and how well, the motion detection/phone notification software works.

Wait for the beep that is longer and different in tone from the other beeps. App on iPhone 6 Plus works fine for us!!!
I have to admit that I was afraid to buy this product because of some reviews here, and the majority of the reviews in the app about it not working on iPhones. But we decided to go ahead and give it a try anyways. The biggest reason to get the camera is that we have 3 small dogs (all rescues) that have separation anxiety, so we need the cameras to be able to see and talk to them when they start to panic. We use two old android phones, an iPad, and an iPod as cameras, all looking at different angles just so we're able to see everybody at all times. The dogs concentrate on one room when we leave but we still have one of the devices in another room just in case.We ordered on the 5th and it was delivered yesterday in the afternoon(1/9/18). We did the burn-in for 24+ hours to make sure it would hold without problems, and it worked perfectly. With our devices we would lose connection several times a day or they would turn off when the computer would go to sleep. They had to be connected at all times and we noticed how the two android phones were getting hot so, we decided to get a camera. The Tenvis' set up was pretty easy. It took exactly 5 minutes for the camera to stop beeping once turned on. We thought it was going to be just a few beeps (it beeps a few times then stops, but then keeps beeping) but the last beep is very different from the others and that lets you know that the camera is ready. If you try to connect to the WiFi during beeping process it will give you an error. After the beeping stops the WiFi set up is lightning fast. No port forwarding was necessary. We had other IP cameras that needed port forwarding, and that can be a headache when you don't know how to set it up. With the first camera we had to call our ISP to ask about port forwarding and they said we had to pay $19.99 extra every month for that (we did not know nothing about PF ) so we just hit the internet and figure it out ourselves, but that took an entire day because of how complicated the camera setup was. Also, the booklet tells you to scan the QRCode and we assumed it was the one in the booklet but it wasn't. It is the one IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAMERA itself. The image is very good for a camera this price. The sound is also very good, and loud (we needed something that would allow the dogs to be able to hear us talking over all the barking and howling ).The motion sensor and notifications work really well. We did hit a tiny snag with GMail. We registered for email notifications but received a notification from google saying that allowing the app could bring privacy issues. I solved that by making another email account specifically for the app (takes less than 30 seconds), and was able to link the account without any problems. The ability to preset camera positions and just "call" them is a big plus that we weren't expecting. We will purchase two more cameras to have the entire apartment covered (bedrooms). We absolutely love this camera and have nothing to complaint about it so far. I will come back and update in a few weeks.BTW, the iPhone app is working fine with no problems. We have the 6 Plus model, and have no issues with the app.UPDATE:3/1/18I rarely write reviews but when I do I like to update them. So, here we go. We bought this camera back in January and received it on Jan 9th. The camera still works flawlessly!!! We've just had a tiny problem with it. It is set up high on the wall (ten inches from the ceiling) and we needed an extension cord to plug it in. The problem is that the connector that goes directly inside the camera can come loose if it gets tugged by accident so we need to check it out in case we had touched the cord extension. But that is just a heads up in case someone have the same issue. It is so much easier to have just one camera without having to be clicking around disconnecting/connecting to other devices and apps.Based on our experience with it, we totally recommend this camera, without a doubt!!!
