SBAC Test Prep: Grade 7 English Language Arts Literacy (ELA) Common Core Practice Book and Full-length Online Assessments: Smarter Balanced Study Guide (SBAC by Lumos Learning)

Purchased the 7th Grade English SBAC Prep book and I have to say that it Definitely Helps! There were a couple of errors but it really wasn't a big deal. Really love all the resources available at the beginning of each chapter to help the kids understand each chapter topic. Kids may not like doing extra work but it definitely helps. Workbooks not only help to prep prior to SBAC Exam, but also help with regular school work especially when kids may need a little more help with a topic, and keep their minds fresh during breaks. Very Helpful, Highly Recommended, have and will continue to recommend to friends.

Replete with errors. Questions match neither content nor style of the 7th grade SBAC. Students do not find any explanations helpful either. I don't know whether there are better prep books for the SBAC yet, but I suggest trying to find them; I sure will. I recommend using SSAT prep books with highest ratings and focusing on the upper level test until/unless you do find a book that offers at least one of two important things for a test preparation book: adherence to the style of the test and close mirroring of the skills level and content of the actual test. his book does neither of these things. While the top-rated SSAT books will not help with precise style of this test, they will cover the necessary content. Adding injury to insult, as the saying goes, this book contains a large number of errors that waste students' time and frustrate them.

Don't buy this if you aren't willing (or your school) to subscribe to the "full program." There is no more here than you can get online for free - even the QR takes you to a place to "subscribe" to get readings, answers, etc. The book contains several texts that are repeated over and over (taking up about 1/3 of the book with the same texts). Each time a text is printed, there are 1-2 questions that go with it - total waste of trees! Additionally, even though I ordered the ELA book, the code takes you to Math! You can also set up students online but only 30 - this doesn't work when you have 135 students.

You need to pay for subscription online to get much value from this book, my son said "Dad, you're scammed" when he tried to use QR code to get answers etc. Such a shame...
