Pain free after a long flight and car trip
This folds up small enough to fit into a backpack easily. The first leg of the flight out was about 6 hours on a “budget” airline and I was in a lot of pain by the end of the flight. The seat was awful. I am 6’ and about 240 lbs. I bought this for the trip back (shipped next day to the hotel: thanks Amazon!)This cushion does not feel like much if you sit on it for 5 minutes. I used it on baseball bleachers and the airline seat. What it does is it lets you float. I found that if I intentionally shifted my weight the fluid supported me and spread the weight off of my pressure points. This support combined with a little “active sitting” kept me comfortable for the entire return flight. It is well made. It costs more than the foam cushions but it works differently. As they point out in their literature you still wind up with pressure points on a foam cushion and I have tried those in the past.Edit 2024: I just used this on a 1500-mile drive, and it worked great. As I said before, it is less comfortable than a soft seat/cushion for the first 5 minutes but once you get used to the floating it relieves lots of seating pressure. I was able to drive for two 4-5 hour stretches in a single day with no discomfort. I have not been able to do that in 35 years.I once got a hard time from TSA but I told them it was for a medical issue and they let it through.

Strange at first, but SO worth it!
When I first sat down on this, it was discouraging, as it felt like I just sat on the most expensive tiny air mattress... but give it a working chance, because your body will thank you later! I get excessive tailbone and sciatic pain from long, constant hours of computer use on weekends. My sciatic nerves will bother me from Sunday until around Wednesday, making even walking my motorcycle in the garage to make room feel unstable.CONS: This has a surprisingly small footprint. It only occupies about 60% of my office chair. So if you have a medium or larger frame, you have to adjust it until you get "just right" or you'll still end up with some discomfort after a couple hours. It still prevents lasting pain, even in the wrong position, so this may even be by design. I don't know, as I'm no medical expert. But without knowing any better, I do wish it was considerably larger. Also, this doesn't work well with reclining. Again, no long-term pain, but if I'm reclining, I'll still eventually get discomfort on my tailbone. Interestingly enough, if I stand up and go get a drink or something, it will be another 1-2 hours before I get that discomfort back.PROS: No matter how I sit on this thing, my long-term pain is GONE! Even if that was the only truth, that alone would make this worth the price! But I can ALSO vouch that numbness is ALSO prevented. I can put my feet up for over an hour straight and even with them elevated, they won't even become tingly, let alone numb!Final thought: I will probably end up eventually buying the wheel chair pad out of sheer curiosity of how it performs vs this. Regardless, this thing is worth EVERY penny and more. You can literally turn any office chair into one that won't cause numbness or pain. It may not be the award-winning comfort that $1000+ chairs provide, but I don't have $1000+ to keep repetitively spending until I find JUST the right chair. This device saves you that trouble. I'm SOOOOO thankful I gave this thing a try!

Not what I thought it would be
I have the square product that this company makes for a padded seat/chair cushion and I've been using it for a couple of years now. The cushion started to feel like it was getting worn down so I was looking for something different that might better support the back of the seating area since it was open in the back. The problem for me was that it didnt cover enough area on the seat and so my legs were getting cut off and started to be uncomfortable. There was also what felt like a floating button or piece of plastic the size of a button on the top of the "U" shape. I tried to see if I turned the "U" shape around, maybe it would be comfortable - I often have to modify or use products in different ways due to my disability. So I tried to sit on it with the top of the "U" towards the back and the opening in the front but I didn't feel comfortable with that position either. I know that was not the "correct way" to use it but I was trying anything I could to see if I could use it. Ultimately, the answer was no and I had to return the item. Like I said, I do currently use the square flat version of this product and I'm happy with it as it covers the entire size of my chair.

BEST tailbone relief for sitting out there!
After a car accident a month ago, my tailbone pain had been unbearable while sitting at work no matter what I tried. I've bought and tried MULTIPLE options with great reviews and NOTHING would work for me. Everything was thick foam, and as a heavy woman, they would all just squish down to nothing and did nothing for me.I ended up finding this on a google search and was glad I found on Amazon to order to try out. I was intrigued with the multiple layers and not just thick foam like all others.I received it in 2 days after ordering. When I opened it I honestly was dismayed looking at it as it seemed SUPER thin and I thought "no way this thing will do what it says".IT DOES!I sat down and instantly understood this this is amazing and does exactly what it says. It's as if I am sitting on water in a way that moves with me and releases all pressure off my tailbone when sitting.I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone, any size, in any type of tailbone pain!!

Not TSA approved
Love it for comfort. Agree that it’s a little too small, but it’s very comfortable. With that being said, I got it because I could fold it up and put it in my backpack to take on the plane. TSA put me through the wringer and did not want to let me take it because it has gel in it and wasn’t cold. They did end up relenting, but let me know that I could expect an issue on my flight back. Long story short take a foam cushion on a flight. Even though they’re huge, you can just connect it on your backpack and it’s considered part of your one item.
