Highly recommended, quality, work lamp.
We are concerned about the emerging evidence of "school myopia" (short sightedness developing through childhood) related to limited outdoor light intensity exposure. The one factor we could easily alter is the quality (particularly intensity) of the light our kids used when working at their desks. This is where the light blade meets our requirements beautifully, with excellent light intensity and the ability to alter the light quality to provide more comfort or greater intensity as demanded by the task. The controls are simple and about right in being able to be adjusted but not by too much or being too fiddly with too much adjustment available. I can see that a lot of thought has been put into the settings to get it with the right balance of being able to be tailored without defeating the point of using a strong light. The overall design is balanced, easy to adjust with one hand and gets light where you want it to be. It's asthestically modern and sleek, perhaps slightly more curves would've been nicer to the eye and to the touch but that's simply my opinion. The light is well constructed and I feel will last a long time even with our younger kids use. This is particularly satisfying to find a product in todays throw away world that won't break and is of sufficient quality to last our kids until they move out!We would happily recommend this to anyone who's looking for a modern quality work light. An after note, the shipping was faster from the US to Australia than it is within Australia.

Stylish, functional, and lots of fingerprints
The Lightblade 1500S provides adequate lighting at max brightness for a localized desk lamp, with full adjustability (color and brightness) for different moods and tasks. It goes from bright daylight to warm yellow, with separate brightness memory for each mode. A must feature allows the light bar to rotate on its long axis away from my eyes. The shiny black plastic shows every spec of dust and fingerprint I put on it, and as of this writing apparent price gouging has the white model at $500 on Amazon.Measuring brightness at max settings with a DT-1309 light meter in a dark room with the light bar at 16” horizontal from a brown desktop yielded the following results:..........Read...Study...Relax...BedLux......860.....970.......426.....217Fc.........80.......90.........37.......20(Fc = Foot Candles)At the lowest brightness setting in Bedtime mode, the results were: 42 lux and 3.9 Fc.The results changed significantly when the probe was moved just an inch around from the maximum measurement location, and when placed right up against the LED bar, registered greater than 10,000 lux.Although not a fair comparison, the Lightblade gives off way more light than my Z-Bar from Koncept purchased in 2007. Today they’re selling in the $300 range on Amazon. Are you kidding me?!I chose this one over the “Softech - Natural Light Smart LED Lamp with Tilting Head -White” because I wanted to turn the light on from either side of a desk in a dark room, and the lighted “on” button panel lays flat on this model vs facing one way for the Softech. It’s not as easy as I thought to poke a little red light in the dark on a touch pad, especially when the timer button is right next to the “on” button.Overall a good lamp and highly recommended, although I wish it ate more watts for a higher brightness setting and let me decide to lower the light level.

and they are nicely unobtrusive. The style and design are very modernist ...
The Lightblade 1500s is an extraordinary lamp. As advertised, it has four settings, from bedtime to reading mode. The lower settings, bedtime and relaxation have a warm golden tint to them; whereas, the study and reading modes are white light, without shadows and bright spots. The LED's are never hot. The timer control is very convenient and works in any of the modes. The controls are essentially a touch pad located on the base of the lamp. They work very well, and they are nicely unobtrusive. The style and design are very modernist in character, as the picture shows. Yet, it fits very nicely in a traditional decor, with a large wooden desk. Finally, within the constraints of its size, the lamp adjusts very nicely to all sorts of reading and working positions. In short, this is a superb lighting instrument and a very good buy for the price. I'm very pleased with it.

Perfect to add extra light to my dark cubicle
Bought this when I was moved to a less lighted area in my office. This is super-helpful because there are not only different light settings, but you can tilt for your preferred eye level. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the tilt and twist of the lamp is a little delicate. If you’re one to move it a lot, and manhandle it, I’d guess it might not last as long as you’d like.
