I've had this kit for about 2 and half years. It's amazing. It has everything I want and need when building computers or fixing things around the house. I've misplaced it and bought an ifixit pro kit. The ifixit is not as good as this one. I mean the ifixit comes with a lifetime warranty, but this has everything I need and more than the pro kit. Also it's like a quarter of the price. So I returned the ifixit and I'm buying this again.

So, I got this because I’m taking an IT class in college and my current toolkit didn’t have everything I needed. It was less than half the cost of an ifixit tool kit, had everything I’d need for the class and for working on systems at home. Expected it to be at least decent, but was blown away by the quality, tools included, and features. For one, the bits are magnetized, and are pretty strong at that.Overall, I really like this kit ngl. Will I buy the official ifixit toolkit the next time I need a toolkit? Yes, but for now, this is more than I needed.

Great tools, just what I needed

In short, I think this is a great value kit if you don't think you'll ever need it more than a few times, or if you normally keep your tools out in the garage and want to have a tiny kit in the house to supplement it when you just need to do a quick tweak. The set costs $11, so be sure to set your expectations accordingly.I have a nice precision driver set from General that includes only a smattering of the tips found here, but they are the tips I always need. I bought this set on a whim just to have something with a wider variety of bits should I ever need them, but mostly to just have another set in the house. The quality seems fine. The driver holds the bits in its grip magnetically, which I found strong enough to be confident that it wouldn't ever lose a bit. Pressing down on the black piece above the top of the driver's grip allows you to telescope your bit out for those hard to reach places, and even more length can be achieved by adding the flexible extension. That surprised me, and means the driver outperforms my preferred precision set, so I've bumped my rating from three to four stars accordingly.The bits seem okay, I haven't really tested them and can't speak to their durability. Many of the reviews of this (and other, similar) cheap sets bash it unfairly for being of Chinese manufacture. Let's be absolutely clear: this set costs $11, which means the cost to manufacture the bits is measured in pennies. Obviously, these are not professional-grade tools that will last you a lifetime; you should expect them to eventually deform from use and break under stress. However, the variety of bits is so good for the price, I would recommend you not let that dissuade you from a purchase.

If you are a casual computer guru, this is absolutely a fantastic kit for the price. My only complaints are that the plastic spudgers are practically worthless, as they deform when pressure is applied against my plastic laptop casing. And the grounding wrist strap is weak. The clamp works fine but the actual prong does not fit any receptacle, so I’m stuck shoving a piece of metal in the ground hole and using the clamp to attach to it. At the moment, this is not worth buying a whole new strap.All the other tools are fantastic. They work perfectly. Perhaps if you do this for a living this kit may not be for you, but for the price, I would recommend this kit to absolutely everyone below professional level. If you need to take apart your computer, look no further.
