I needed to replace an old extortion cord with switch that was starting to fail on me. The switch was getting wonky. Since it's connecting a mic pre-amp that does not have a power switch and I'm not one of those studios that leaves their equipment on all day, nor do I want to unplug and replug it every time I want to use that piece of gear.This 1.5 foot heavy duty 14 AWG extension cord with power switch is a great solution for my needs (so far) I've only had it a few days now. I went with the shortest length closest to 2 feet that they offered. 3 feet would likely have worked too. Some reviewers state that some lengths place the switch closer to the outlet side rather than in the middle or close to the item you are connecting to it so be aware of that. I need the power switch to be in the middle of the cord (which it is on the 1.5' version) or near the item I am plugging in, so the longer lengths potentially wouldn't work for me anyway. It seems well made and I hope to get reliable service from it for years to come.

I'm using this extension cord for the lights hanging over my deck. I can keep them plugged in all the time and use the switch to turn them on/off. It seems weatherproof so far. Love the convenience of not having to plug/unplug the lights each time.

I love having this on my big work light, as the built in switch failed.I wish that the light in the toggle was lit when the switch is off so it is easy to find in the dark.I guess the idea is to add safety by letting you know the switch is on.

I have an ibc tote that I catch rain in. Have a transfer pump hooked up to it. To turn it on and off I had to connect or disconnect from the extension cord. With this I just have to switch it on or off. Good quality. Heavy duty. Would highly recommend.

The first item I was delivered was the incorrect item. Amazon made it easy to return the mistake and the new item was what I wanted. This switched extension works very well for our application -- powering a bug killer outside on the deck with a switch that allows us to conveniently turn it on and off while keeping it plugged in.I would have given it five stars if not for the hassle of getting the wrong item the first time.

Perfect for my outdoor electric pump.

Used this switch to turn a fountain pump on and off on my son’s water wall. Zip tied it to the side of the wall where he can reach it and he can now control the fountain pump himself easily. Highly recommend! Great function, sturdy plug.

These switches/plugs work well. Despite them being rated for outdoors, I do have them sheltered. I have them hooked up to heated water buckets on my farm and so far they are working good.
