Attractive
This is a very attractive self-watering planter. It's not overly bright, but bright enough for a small orchid so the lighting is perfect. I can also manipulate the gooseneck to shine the light in front rather than on top of the plant which is a big plus since I want the flowers to open in a foward position. I don't have it planted in the pot yet because the included wick is too thin to wick up any substantial moisture. Right now my own pot is sitting inside of the included white planter. I'll need to purchase a thicker wick. You can also set the light to turn on and off automatically, but it seems like there's only one setting which I believe is 12 hrs. Only the switch button lights up and the timer button has no light so you can't tell if there are different settings. Also, I'm not sure if I received a defective one, but the constant blinking blue switch light is a bit annoying. I'm still happy with this purchase since I purchased it at a discount and not the $33 now listed.

Unique combination of planter and miniature grow-light
I like this combination planter/light. It's a bit bright to use for a desk lamp, but it such a unique idea that I ended up using it on the kitchen counter to grow cat-greens.The planter itself is fairly cheaply made, but it looks nice enough. The inner bowl doesn't touch the bottom of the outer bowl, so that the soil doesn't get saturated and gives the roots some chance to breathe. There's a wick included that allows you to fill the bottom of the outer (white) bowl and it will keep the soil in the black planter moist but not soaked. The light is fairly bright. I'd guess it's equivalent to about a 100-150 Watt daylight bulb, so it wouldn't serve well as a desk lamp unless you really want it bright.I tried planting some cat grass and turned the 12 hour cycle on. It took less than a week for the seeds to grow to about 5 inches. (It doesn't come with the cat grass, but that's available elsewhere and my cat loves it.)The lamp has a flexible rod so that you can adjust the light directly onto the plants or move them off to the side for indirect light. This would make a nice gift and it would work as a decorative planter -- perfect in a small place like an apartment that doesn't get direct sunlight.Overall, this is a nice and very unique planter and light combination that is also a decent value at the current $33.

Works well to keep plants alive in a basement apartment
I was gifted a lavender plant over the holidays. I live in a basement apartment with no natural light reaching my windows - which makes potted plants impossible to keep. Since it's winter, I can't put it outside yet either. That's where this comes in!The height of this light was the big selling feature for me. The lavender plant was pruned to look like a little tree so it's fairly tall - too tall for most grow lights like this. This one works great and the flexible light stand means I can angle it to accommodate the very top of the plant. too.I only gave this four stars since the timer function is wonky to use plus it has an always-on LED. I've given up on it & just turn it off/on manually instead - which works since I would have to unplug it or put electrical tape over the stupid LED light on the power switch. I am so sick of every electronic device having always-on LED lights. My whole house is lit like a damn xmas tree all year round. I use electrical tape on most things, which is ugly & an added expense that shouldn't be necessary. That's always a full star deduction on any device that has them.

glorious growth!!!
i have a couple plants that i've had for year or more ... neither of them have been thriving. they're aline - no sadness or pouting so just no new growth. so i decided to work them both under this light and TADA!!!! growth!!! i am shocked and so thrilled! honestly i was about ready to cut open one of the fiddle fig leaves to make sure i hadnt bought a fake one. but since putting it under this light, i can definitely say it's thriving. it's already started it's 3rd new leaf! i'm such a happy and proud plant parent right now. i've used several different plant lights over the last few years and had OK results. i've really focused more on using them though when they were just missing sunlight - like a week of rain or having to put the away because of the cold. this is my first stint really trying to promote growth and i really can't imaging being happier with the results. to the point that i have put other grow lights on different plants in an effort to make all my plants just as happy.

Awesome planter for a desk
Works very well. Let’s you grow pretty much anything as a desktop decoration. Has a small footprint so won’t grow anything too big, which is what makes it so great for a desktop.

Good grow light
This seems to be a good grow light. I am just starting to use them this winter, so I do not have any experience with them and cannot compare this one to others. The light is fairly bright on it, and it holds a medium-sized planter if needed on its base. I have mine angled to throw light on several plants. I cannot say how it will do long term, but my plants do seem to be doing fairly well under it.

Bigger than I anticipated
Cute desk grow lamp, bigger than I anticipated it being. Did not use original pot it came with since I have my own. Attempting to grow some flowers for my desk. Will update if it works!

Very nice desk grow light
Very well made with a nice sunlight glow. Has a timer that will shut off automatically, so it’s a no worry grow light system. Very good price too, Highly Recommend this light.
