Q: Has anyone that installed these outdoors had any rust or corrosion? I live in the Northeast and the winters are brutal.

They Rust ALOT FASTER THAN YOUD EXPEXT. Installed a system 1 mile from the ocean. Had surface rust within 30 days. Had to treat all hardware with a Spray on Metal protector spray and wipe it in. Low Quality Stainless in this product from what’s advertised. Cable same thing, came from Vevor and was supposed to be the HIGH GRADE STAINLESS.

Q: Can you use these with coated cable which had an outside diameter of 1/4”?

Mine were 5/16 bare cable. If your 1/4” cable with coating is 5/16 over all then I guess it would work. Crimp it 2 times , just in case.
