Not sure about the conversational style
Overall a well written book with some thought provoking passages. A problem for me, and perhaps it is unique to my taste, is the conversation following each brief presentation. Generally three questions are presented back-to-back and then the author answers all the questions in one response. It seems to me that a response to each question in turn would be a better approach. If you are a philosopher and have no experience with neurophysiology then the Brain Map in the glossary will be helpful. This is often referenced in the footnotes. This is especially true of chapters 19, 25, 28 and 23 unless you have immediate recall of the location and function of the ventral prefrontal cortex, inferior frontal gyrus, temporal parietal junction, ventral striatum and so forth.
