This is the ONE you Need!
I'm a co-founder of Hacker Pen, a leading penetration testing shop. We actually write dummy questions for this exam, as well as three others (those are the questions you answer, but don't count, and don't show up until later versions of the exam). Get ready for a GREAT pen, or IT security mgmt. career with this volume! There are three general types of questions, which I'll call recall, application and problem solving. The vast majority are application-- and that's where this prep guide shines. There is NO QUESTION: if you master this guide, you'll pass the exam! Please DO NOT be fooled by all the packages, flash cards, kits, toolkits, and thinner volumes competing with this volume-- this study guide is very recently up to date with the latest questions and topics (many taken from real test exit interviews as well as folks like us writing advanced questions for future exams), and in close to 1,000 pages, every topic is at least covered in enough depth to get you to the right answer. Also, the publisher's web site for the book does offer electronic flashcards, over 1,000 more questions, and three complete (250 question) exams in addition to the complete exam already found in the book! That is a LOT of prep in the REAL categories covered by the 2012 BOK.In the multiple choice questions, there are "distractors" that are very close to the real answer, but as a programmer you probably already know about interlocking choices-- you can almost always eliminate two of the choices by just the Bool behind the others. This guide gives all the tips as well as great exercises without wasting your time on outdated topics that are no longer relevant. Some of the questions are difficult, I won't shine you on, but if you take the time to understand both the content and the format with this book, you'll dramatically cut down the time it takes to get to the answer on the real exam, and really reduce your stress. What you get out depends on what you put in, but save yourself a load of money and focus on this resource-- it does not disappoint. I have no problem trash talking garbage out there (my personality), but there is little to say negative about this fine collection of exercises and questions. I hate to see you waste money, and you won't here!

Passed the CISSP Exam with this Book
I passed the CISSP exam in March 2015 before the ISC2 domain and test changes the following month. This was my primary book for studying for the exam. It was an excellent resource. I read the entire book and then went back and re-read the chapter summaries. I was familiar with much of the material but some of the domains were new to me and were explained well in the book. This was the first certification exam I took in a long time and this book made it easier for me. And for what the book contains, this book is underpriced. I remember paying a lot more for certification books.I took the quizzes at the end of each chapter. The test engine that you can download was also very helpful.I'm sure the authors and publishers will be out with a new edition since the CISSP domains and exam has changed. I plan on buying it to stay current.

Good CISSP book- easy to follow & use to study--online Kindle
This book is current (2012) content and easy to read and interpret. Although I have my CISSP, it's an excellent CISSP study guide, I believe as good as ISC2 (certification body) but easier to read and use. A few practice test questions, but not enough to help you see weaknesses sufficiently to create a more focused study plan. I'd rate it a 5 if it had more questions. Without them, you have to buy something else. It's still a good bargain, hard copy or Kindle (which you get Kindle-PC version).

Worked for me!
I signed up for the exam and ordered the book. I never attended any bootcamp or classes geared to exam or material preparation. However, I was shocked to find all the time, money and energy people spent preparing to take this test. Honestly, it started to make me nervous, however, it was too late to turn back.I read the book in 6-days and took the exam on the 7th day and passed with no issue. Although there are certainly a few areas there were not addressed well in the book that were present on the exam, it was no enough to make a difference.I never attended a bootcamp. I did not take practice tests. I did not read several books on the subject. I just bought this book and read it in 6-days, and I took the exam on the 7th day. That was enough. Just read the book and take the test.

Helped me pass!
This booked helped a lot in studying for the CISSP. I would say that just one of any book wouldn't be enough, but this provided additional information and got me in the right mindset to study. I used this book and Eric Conrad's CISSP Study Guide and between the two of them, it provided enough information for me to pass the first time.I also had the Shon Harris book, but I didn't read through that whole thing and was worried that that book would provide too much irrelevant detail, since it was so thick and had too much to memorize.

Great study tool!
This was my second resource- I primarily used the Syngress book and skimmed though a quarter of this book. The 3 practice exams that come with this book are invaluable though! As a single study resource, you can't go wrong with this book. I'm actually quite pleased with the quality of books Sybex puts out and have used their material for Linux+ as well as Project+ with great results.I literally passed the exam 4 hours ago, first attempt, with the help of the practice exam/questions that come with this book.

Awesome book
The first opening chapter was awesome and compelling. The subsequent chapters are nicely versed like the ISC2 CBK but are better written with virtually no errata and better proof-read. This is the 4th book I bought to prepare for CISSP exam, and though I still find much of the materials repetitive, there are very good amount of hidden gems. A must have!! (Don't count on this review since I haven't passed the exam).

Easy Read. Good Prep.
This book has been well written. You need to have a basic understanding of information security, but I think that's safe to say for anyone looking into this book. It's structured well and comes with enough information to get you started on your way to becoming a CISSP.
