Gimmick!
I have an Aera WiFi model. Which is the more advanced more expensive model this sense cartridge (and the other ones available from the Marriott group) apparently only work with the Aera that the hotel chain sells them self. This cartridge does not have the copper contacts with the chip at the bottom, which communicate with the device. Therefore, it’s the “dumb“ cartridge. When I put it into my device, it does not work because it does not have the chip which my device can read, the company said I would need to buy one of the dumb models from the hotel, which cannot read the chip. It makes no sense. Why would the hotel make a dumb version of this cartridge, or why would the company not allow the device to use a cartridge without a chip? Luckily I found out that I can take the strip off of the bottom of a older cartridge and stick it under this one to make my device think that there’s a cartridge inside and be able to use this scent cartridge. It’s a decent tack, which works OK, although the device cannot figure out how much oil is left inside the cartridge. Not sure at all why anyone decided this was a good idea considering the chip on these cartridges probably only costs $.05-$.10 it’s all very weird to me.

Be sure you have the correct diffuser before buying!
Lovely scent but it is NOT compatible with the diffuser sold on the Aera website. It only works with the diffuser sold on the Edition Hotel site. From the photos online, I assumed that the two diffusers were the same. I contacted both Aera and Edition about why the Aera diffuser machine wasn’t recognizing the Edition capsule. They both confirmed that the two are not compatible and I would need a separate Edition diffuser if I wanted to use the Editon capsule. Will be returning the capsule (even though it does smell nice!) bc I can’t justify spending another $100+ on a different diffuser.Hope this helps to clear potential confusion for future shoppers!

Not effective…
Not very effective even in a moderate size room. Smells good when you place your nose right next to the machine but that’s about all. Waste of money.

Home Edition capsule
The scent is pleasant, but the issue is that it fades in just over a week when using strength 5. Consequently, although I'd love to retain the capsule and diffuser, I can't justify spending $85 on a capsule once the fragrance has run out within a little over a week.
