Anna and Sarah Chopped Dates with Oat Flour in Resealable Bag (3 Lbs)

Absolutely delicious (with one caveat)
For awhile I've been buying Bob's Red Mill Date Crumbles, 20-ounce (Pack of 4) but they can get pricey. That was the case recently so I went looking on Amazon for other possibilities. That was how I found these chopped dates at $15 ($14.99) for 3 lbs. They had no reviews so I took a chance. I am glad I did - they are terrific and even better than Bob's. Since I had so many I habitually froze my Bob's Red Mill Date Crumbles, so after decanting some of the the Anna and Sarah dates into a glass jar for refrigeration, I put the resealable bag with the remainder into a freezer bag and froze them. (The bag doesn't say you have to refrigerate or freeze; I'm just in the habit.) The expiration date is just under a year away, August 2017. The only thing I could say against these chopped dates, is well, the product photo is accurate: they look like dog food pellets! Overlook that and you should enjoy them fine.EDIT July 27 2017: Take note. Today I paid $275 to have a filling drilled out and replaced after chomping down on something in these dates that punched a small hole into a dental filling. I didn't see what it was but I sure felt it on biting down. A pit? A small piece of pit? Whatever it was it damaged my filling. I know these things happen but I'm back to ding a star because of it.

The Oat Flour Coating is Funky
I use dates to sweeten up my healthy cereal or as a sweet snack. The dates themselves taste fine except for the oat flour coating (to prevent dates from sticking together I assume). It's a wierd taste combination to me. You can really taste the flour. Maybe not an issue if you are baking with these but if you are eating them raw, the flour taste is very noticable. In case you think I'm just picky, my previous go-to was Walmart brand chopped dates. They were fine, did not stick together and did not taste like a mouth of flour. I only switched because I can't find them at my Walmart any more. If you are ok with the flour taste, these dates are fine and a good buy.

No added sugar
We add to hot or cold cereal every morning.....Some of the pieces are a little too big & have to be cut in half or thirds....other than that its a really wonderful addition to our morning meal

Perfect sweet, chewy addition to oatmeal cookies, homemade granola, or on WW cereal!
These are the perfect addition to oatmeal cookies, homemade granola, or to top a bowl of while wheat cereal. They give me all the sweetness I need without adding any other sweetener. I am pleased to announce that they are not dried up nuggets That taste ancient. They are delicious and chewy and we are very satisfied with this purchase.

Delicious!
I buy in bulk so I can add a tablespoon to my oatmeal every morning. The date pieces add just enough sweetness so I don't have to use any type of sugar. I freeze the big bag and take out as needed once a week.

Great for recipes or snacks
I ordered these for a vegan breakfast cookie recipe I wanted to make. They were exactly what I was searching for and the price was better than expected. If you like dates, these are even good to snack on when you need something that’s sweet and still healthy.
