Perfect phone switch turn off the spam!
On / off switch for phone. Very basic nothin' fancy but works great when I'm working from home and don't want a landline ringing in the background. I was unplugging, but not easy to reach and phone jack isn't designed to be repeatedly plugged and unplugged. This is perfect. (My phone doesn't have a setting to silence ringer.)

Must have an analog landline for this product to work.
Poor description. Many, including myself complain that this product does not work on a telephone line or fax coming off of a cable modem like Optimum or Verizon Fios. It did not work for me. Why mislead the public in thinking that it works on all telephone and fax lines. Why not specify what it is used for?Furthermore, the item is a piece of junk. It is a little transistor board that is housed in a small plastic container that fell apart as soon as I took it out of the package it came in.I got a refund the same day. Shame on you!

Works Fine but is 'flimsy'
This works fine, ON and OFF, but the top piece does not fit snugly into the body. Not sure why it's even removable, but I would probably complain if it wasn't, LOL. It could certainly be glued into place.I attached my switch to the back of my printer with Velcro so I can turn the FAX OFF when I want to. Problem is, if I accidentally bump or yank one of the phone cords, it pops halfway off (at least) because, as noted, the top doesn't fit tightly. Shows the importance of proper design of even such a simple product.

It works.
Gave it a 4/5 because the plastic is pretty flimsy. It does the job though and we don't switch OFF and ON too often so it will probably last a while. Why did I need it? One land line phone in the house rings way too loud no matter what we do. So we turn this phone OFF with the switch and only switch it ON when we happen to want to use that phone. With a phone in every room we don't have a problem missing calls. It's mostly spam anyway - so who cares?

Works but cheaply made and way overpriced.
This is a very small and very fragile thin plastic box that contains a tiny switch which turns a standard landline phone line on and off. The box is only 2" by 1" and the switch is not mounted in the box very securely. It does what it is supposed to do. However, I doubt it can hold up to repeated use and, more importantly, it is way overpriced. It looks and feels like something you would buy in a dollar store for 99 cents.

Great way to silence an old phone when the jack is not accessible
It does what it is supposed to by making it able to switch the phone off and on easily. We have an old phone we don't want to part with and wanted to be able to silence it. The phone jack is behind heavy furniture, but this thing let us silence the phone without having to move the furniture. A simple, easy solution, I wish we could choose the color, but that's my only complaint. (You will need an additional short length of phone cord to go with this, so order one if you don't already have one.)

Does not work with Landline and Brother FAX
Someone else mentioned problems with OOMA and Brother multifunction printer/faxes. I can confirm that with our landline it also does not work. Flipping the switch to off makes the fax think it is receiving a fax.

Didn't work with Ooma and Brother Fax
I wanted to use this switch to make it easier to connect our Brother printer/fax device to the phone line for the rare times we need to use the fax capability. It worked fine in the 'on' position but when turned to 'off' the fax just rang continuously. Plain old telephone service (POTS) only used two wires and I was able to determine that the switch in this device only breaks one of the two connections so one wire remains connected regardless of the switch position. Maybe this creates a problem for use because we use an Ooma Telo IP phone device rather than a normal land line but, regardless, it made this switch useless for me.Instead I purchased a double-pole, single-throw toggle switch and used an old double gang wall plate to create my own switch which *does* disconnect both wires and works fine.

Works but cheaply made
The housing falls apart, so I secured it with electrical tape. The unit should come with a short male-male phone wire but doesn't. The switch works, so the product does fulfill its purpose.
