This compact book is designed for the professional event planner or producer who is looking for a great new idea to pitch to his/her next client. Glickman has compiled one of the most comprehensive lists of themes, elements and entertainment options I have ever seen. I do not plan to put this book up on my bookshelf and forget about it. I'm pretty sure that it will become quite worn quite quickly. I plan to use this book in two different ways: The first (as suggested by the author) is to do my own brainstorming and then go to the book for additional polish and suggestions. I also plan to use it when I get stumped for new ideas. Just thumbing through the lists sparks possibilities and unique ideas. I also like the blank pages at the back of the book to jot down additional thoughts and elements. If you are looking for a "how to" book on event production, this is not the book for you. If you are an event professional looking for a "how to make it better" book, this is a great resource!

As an event professional for 28 years I basically make my living creativiting decor and entertainment (we call it Living Art), that makes events fun, impressive and memorable. Over the 28 years I’ve been in the business the industry has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to. Not only is there more competition than there used to be but it’s sometimes a challenge to continue to come up with fresh new and exciting things that people haven’t seen before. If you’re feeling stumped this book helps to get your creative juices flowing. It offers brand new ideas, and reminded me of some themes and ideas that I haven’t used in awhile. I also liked how it gave you some space to make some notes and add some of your own ideas to the lists.

In this Guide he provides a stepping off point for the creativity of both the seasoned professional and the newcomer to the field. Not a step by step process book, but an above and beyond ideas listing that will aid you in making your event that much more unique and complete for your client. A quick read that at first might not dazzle...But upon reflection and utilization you will realize that it is a deep wealth of ideas and sage advice. His teams experience over the years in developing ideas ranging from national media exposure to creating smaller targeted audience interactions has contributed to this collection. And it is the foundation of those successful experiences that will contribute to your team making its mark. From making the pitch to land the account, successfully delivering the goods, and build future business on positive word of mouth. The great thing about this guide is it doesn't simply provide you with Bob's own concepts drawn from his many years as a successful event producer; it works as a launching pad for you to draw from his experience and create an event that is uniquely yours.

As a 30-year profession in the event business, I found this to be a terrific resource! We all have our own lists, but this is a valuable and complete collection! It is great to have all of this in one easy to read (and carry) book. Every event professional should have this tool in her/his toolbox.
