Excellent For Low Back Pain
Over the years, my low back pain has kicked up. I had to start elevating my legs to take the pressure off of my lower spine. I started out with an inflatable one, but after several months it developed a hole, so not wanting another one like that, I decided to go with this and I'm super happy with it.It's firm, there's plenty of space for both legs to fit on it comfortably and I'll never have to worry about it deflating. My back doesn't hurt when I use this, so this has given me a lot of relief. It also hasn't shown any wear nor has it flattened out at all. I also appreciate the removable (and washable) cover.I recommend this for anyone thinking about getting a leg elevation pillow for low back pain.

Revolutionized my sleep!
I saw this ad and wondered if it was another gimmick but, since I can't seem to not wake up with a backache regardless of the mattress firmness, or to not wake up multiple times during the night, I grudgingly decided to give this leg pillow a shot.A bit of background first: One of the greatest revelations in my life came when, after we could no longer store the many and oodles of head pillows I'd purchased in my quest for a good night's sleep, my ex-husband, a doctor, finally said: why don't you just try sleeping without a pillow? (In the past but especially while pregnant, I tried sleeping with an ever increasing number of pillows under my head, spanning the full spectrum of firmness, only to wake up with even more aches and pains). Just the thought of sleeping without a pillow seemed ludicrous to me but, since I'd tried them all and nothing worked, I gave it a shot. WELL, that was a huge game-changing experience for me! Gone immediately were the darned neck pains and I was overjoyed! Have never slept on a pillow again (unless I sleep on my side), but the back pains have remained over the years. I figured it had to be the mattress, so I bought just about every kind of mattress of every possible firmness available, but none relieved my back pain upon waking up. Hmmmm. Gave those away and decided to go the pillow route again (my head pillow collection under my legs when sleeping on my back [anywhere from 1 to 5], or a thick pillow or a body pillow between my legs when sleeping on my side, which provided some relief but nowhere near enough). The neck pain relief made such a difference in my life and the slight relief for my back pain provided by my repurposed head pillow collection or body pillows were enough that I gave up my quest, thinking that's the best I could do. Fast-forward 30 years from the neck pain epiphany and I'm happily scrolling through Amazon ads looking for mattress covers, when this leg pillow ad comes up. Hmmmm... I couldn't resist the curiosity and decided to check it out. Having purchased a small fortune in pillows over time that only increased my neck pain, I was very skeptical about this leg pillow. Surely the latest marketing gimmick, now only for legs! But the lingering thought that this might actually allow me to sleep a full night and wake up without back pain got the best of me and, being a back-sleeper most of the time, this pillow started looking better and better. I closed my eyes, hit the buy button, and put it out of my mind, fully expecting having to return it. When my pillow arrived (I'd put it out of my mind already, considering it an impulse buy), I unpacked it and put it on the corner of my bed, waiting for it to fluff up (amazing how they condensed these pillows for packing!). I kept sneaking glances at it as it gained volume and found myself getting guardedly excited about it. Finally the moment of truth came, and I put this baby to the test. Here's how I did it:I'm short (5'1") so, in order to position it properly, I wedged the bottom part of the slant a bit under my buttocks so that my knees hit at just the top of the slant and the farthest border of the top square hit right below my ankles, leaving my feet dangling. Remember, I am mostly a back sleeper and can't sleep with a pillow under my head, just so you get the full picture. On my back, no pillow under my head, with the bottom part of this wedge tucked under my buttocks, thighs up the slant, calves over top square, feet dangling over the edge. Then I went to sleep. Next thing I knew, it was morning -- didn't wake up once and woke up with no back pain! Yessssssssss. Nothing short of a miracle :)). I've been using it for 4-5 months now and I'm thrilled to report that I've enjoyed many a great nights' sleep with no waking up during the night and no morning backache.PROS:The pillow foam is very sturdy and keeps its shape, providing enough firmness to keep your legs propped without feeling hard on your calves. It has a zip up cover too, which is machine-washable. The cover also has a good grip on the fitted sheet so the pillow won't be sliding around underneath youIt completely relieves my back pain. I am convinced that the slight tucking under the buttocks is the main key to back pain relief, as it adjusts the curvature of the spine just enough to relieve the pressure. The elevated legs then continue the realignment, increasing the pressure relief. This pillow keeps me from waking up at night (which I used to do at least 6 - 8 times every.single.night.). Moreover, I've experienced not only continuous but DEEP sleep using this pillow, which, coupled with every other pro listed here, is priceless!CONS:Other reviewers have commented that the pillow should be a bit wider and I tend to agree. Initially I thought it was fine but, being able to sleep deeply through the night now, I found that, on a couple of days, I woke up with considerable pain on one knee, which suggests that somehow during the night I moved my leg off the pillow a bit, just enough to leave my knee dangling on the side while my lower leg remained on the pillow; hence the pain. If the pillow were a bit wider it would prevent this from happening. If you're not a back sleeper, this pillow will not work for youThe pillow cover gets fuzzy and only comes in white. Would be great if the cover were waterproof, too. And now that I think of it, I'm not sure if this pillow can be put in the washer either. Will need to find out. Most nights I sleep through the night on my back, but others I switch between my back and my side. When this happens, I have to remove the wedge from under my legs, put it aside and replace it with a regular pillow between my legs for side sleeping. I do this very quickly and on auto pilot by now so it doesn't keep me from falling back asleep, but mentioning it here because if there are two of you on the bed, it can get rather crowded keeping the regular pillow for side-sleeping on hand plus this block on the bed, unless you throw the leg pillow on the floor :)). This comment is just an FYI, did not factor into my rating because one can't expect a bulky item not to take up space on the bed, it's unavoidable. All things considered, this pillow has been a godsend and I'm soooo glad I bought it! I sleep alone in a king-sized bed so plenty of space to keep both the side-sleeping pillow next to me and this leg pillow under my legs, and then switch them out during the night if/ when needed. It can be a bit of work but, with the relief it offers, it's well worth the gymnastics! I highly recommend this itemHope that helps!

Perfect height and firmness for knee surgery
I recently had ACL repair and my leg has to be elevated and straight right now. I am 5'9" and 190 lbs. This works really well so far. It is the same height as my arm on the couch, which is a pretty standard couch. The angle is good to elevate, and I'm able to get both legs on the pillow, barely. I do have a big brace on one of them. This is as wide as the narrow width of a standard pillow. It is firm enough to not fall and give under the weight of my muscular thighs. When I can elevate and not worry about keeping the knee perfectly straight this will be a perfect stand alone solution. Bonus: the cover has little grip nubs on the bottom so the pillow resists moving. It stays in place in my bed at night when it isn't supported by anything like an arm of a couch.I would recommend this pillow, especially for post surgery. It is firm, yet still comfy to lean on (just tried that).

too short for my legs
this turned out to be too short for my legs. my feet hang off the end of it making it very uncomfortable to use for more than a few minutes at a time; pillows ended up working better than this. and it's not as high as I thought it would be. it compresses so it goes lower than the measurement given in the description. I've seen other similar elevation pillows that have multiple parts. is there some sort of extension pillow or foam piece I can purchase to supplement this pillow? and is there a foam/pillow piece I can purchase to put under this one to make it higher?update: have not heard from the manufacturer. i've given it a fair shot at using it and due to reasons stated above, this leg elevation pillow did not work out for me and I cannot recommend it to others at this time.
