I have been an artist for many years but have never tried this compound and I know many artists are very pleased using it. I am trying some new mixed media approaches and am now trying modeling paste. This particular brand of modeling paste is well known and receives good reviews. I find it important to learn from other artists who rate specific brands highly.For building texture it is excellent. It dries to a nice solid application while creating height and volume very nicely. It doesn’t dry too too fast so I can manipulate it as I want. This compound is great for stencils - it goes on smooth and flows well; not too many stokes or visible bumps in application - and it’s almost translucent when applied thinly. I’ve added acrylic paint to it, which works well. And the modeling paste doesn’t seep out.I can think of all kinds of applications for this light and fluffy modeling paste where a thicker paste would be too difficult and thick to use. And there is a thicker compound for other kinds of uses which gives yet another reason to purchase this brand.I am happy to give this product a five star rating!

Good value. This dries bright white. You can either paint it or spray it with Polly to protect it from discoloring. I researched this and glad I did. I intended to coat mine with resign, because coasters get a lot of use, I will even put the resin on the coaster. Since this is marble eventually with use marble will stain. I also will be painting the rim with gold as well as the design I put around the top. Because coasters get a lot of use by taking additional steps these will last for years. Using the resign will also prevent my design from chipping as well. I have used this for repairing a few of my foam pumpkins. Works great. NOTE: this dries as hard as a rock so when sanding expect to be awhile.

This was for a first time user. It was to make raised spots in a mushroom hat. It was applied to cloth and worked great!

This is a phenomenonal product and is easy to mixed with my acrylic paints to create beautiful colors. Will be buying again. As you can see in my photos, the textured stencils created with this product were perfect.

I used this to cover text and images on an old book to make a new surface to create an art journal. It worked fine, but did require several coats to fully cover the underlaying image and text, which is understandable, albeit a pain in the butt when I could only do a two page spread at a time. However, it did the job and most mediums I’ve tested on it work well!

This stuff is so fun and easy to work with! Even the kids can work with it. It’s so light and very easy to manipulate. I highly recommend it!The heavy modeling paste has a wonderful texture but does have much more of an odor. It makes sense though. I really like how smooth it is and it lays down nicely.

Love this stuff for stenciling my mixed media projects. I love TCW brand. I buy their other products as well. this modeling paste is soft for easy handling, but thick and "puffy" to make your stencils have dimension. I've bought this Modeling past from TCW several times already. Never disappoints.

this works great for collage although it has an unpleasant odour.

I like this product as it’s easy to use, great for creating light texture through stencils and easy to clean. Very good for adding interest in journals and much more.

a clear matte protective gesso. very nice and almost as good as the more expensive Art Basics gesso ...just not quite as smooth but does exactly the same thing. Would highly recommend it if cost is an issue.
