The orange point/tower in the top, middle of my photo is the piece that I received, described as Carnelian. The other 3 pieces in the photo are my personal collection of authentic Carnelian.Even my colourblind boyfriend could tell that this point is absolutely not Carnelian (or any part of it). The visible texture, tone of orange, glimmery flecks, and white veins, all indicate that it's most likely orange calcite.If I had been in the market for orange calcite, this would have been a five-star piece. Unfortunately, I was looking for a display piece to substitute my carnelian in a presentation, and this simply was not the item described or promised. I wish these Amazon sellers would research their crystal points before selling them in mass quantities; it would be more profitable for them and less disappointment and wasted money for us.For anyone looking for metaphysical differences between Carnelian and Orange Calcite:- Carnelian is ruled by Mars & the Sun, represented by Aries, Leo, and Scorpio, and governs the solar plexus, sacral, and root chakras. Used for power, motivation, decisive action, and success.- Orange Calcite is ruled by the Sun, Moon, and Venus, represented by Cancer and Leo, and governs only the solar plexus and sacral chakras. Used for creativity, emotional healing, and energetic renewal.While the two certainly share some similarities, they have considerably different uses and are completely different gemstones. If you are looking for a solid crystal, this is NOT it. Bunch of chopped up pieces cast in some plastic looking bond. The bottom is completely see thru and not a solid crystal at length described. Bummer. I should have looked more closely at the 3rd picture on this page. Shows the clear bottom...

This is actually a bunch of small pieces cast in resin, not what I was looking for but it is still beautiful!
