Very Nice Coveralls
I read all of the reviews before buying and based upon the general consensus of reviewers, decided to order one size larger. This turned out to be a wise choice. I am 6' 0", 170 lbs with a 40" chest. I ordered the 42 Tall and it fits very well over jeans and a polo shirt. I was able to put the item on over my tennis shoes but getting them off with the shoes still on was a bit of a challenge. The legs are a little long, but not an issue. The sleeves are also a little long but the cuffs contain tightening snaps, so you can tighten them up enough so that the longer sleeves aren't a problem. Even with the slightly too long sleeves, the elbows were a little tight (very little). This doesn't restrict movement, but you do feel a bit of resistance when you bend your arms. They are brand new, so maybe with some use the elbows will loosen up a bit.The material is on the thick and heavy side. These should be pretty durable and maybe just a bit hot in the summer.I indicated that the product fits "Somewhat small." This is because HAD I ordered the 40" Tall, as the sizing chart suggests, they would have been too small; however, I ordered a size up so they fit me perfectly. Some of the reviewers even ordered two sizes up. I didn't need to do that, but most people consider me a bit skinny.

Excellent quality fabric and construction
Nice looking. Excellent quality fabric at a glance. Pocket opening for reaching jeans pocket under coveralls. Also great and deep pockets in the coveralls. Snaps at sleeve cuff excellent, can close small enough to keep things out but still enough room to close over gloves. Goes on easily over work boots. At just under 6', 205 lbs., the arm and leg length are perfect fit. Got him the size 46 because the old (different brand - cheap) coveralls were 44 and a little snug over tummy. The 46 is a little roomy but in winter will work well with sweater or light jacket under. Also have not been washed yet so may shrink a tiny bit. Still ... would be nice to have zippers at the pant leg bottoms. At their price point that does not seems unreasonable and would pay extra for the feature. Got the flame resistant for welding but he hasn't had a chance to test yet. Other reviews were good on this point.

Nice coveralls. A bit expensive. Zipper seems flimsy.
These are nice, good looking coveralls. I think they're a bit over-priced.The Good:-Dark blue color seems to hold up well in the washer.-Good fit, I like that Carhartt offers a variety of sizes not just large, medium or small.-Mostly cotton. Polyester blends are uncomfortable and just too hot.The Bad:-Small, flimsy looking front zipper. For the money, they should have used a big, tough zipper like on my other coveralls. I anticipate I will be paying my tailor to install a proper zipper.-No zippers at the pants cuffs. The cuffs are big enough that I can put the coveralls on over a pair of work boots, but my other coveralls have cuff zippers and that's a nice touch.

Size 40 Short: 160 lbs, 5'6" Tall, 38" Chest, 35" Arms, 32" Waist & 32" Leg Length
Fit:This was my first ever purchase of an FR coverall. I used the reviews to make a decision on size. I ordered a 40 short and it fits great over a layer of clothing including a light winter jacket. Although I’m inexperienced with sizing for coveralls, it may be useful to some to note that this was at least 2 sizes larger than what I would’ve expected. However, I was very impressed by how well it fit. I am 160 lbs, 5’6” tall, 38” chest, 32” waist and 32” leg length. Sleeves and legs are of ideal length (not too short, not too long) and there’s no discomfort in the groin area.Design & Quality:Great look, well made and good quality material. Certainly better than expected. Particularly love the engineered pocket designs especially the layered pocket design of the traditional patch pockets. There are through pockets for accessing pants pockets and over those are the traditional pockets on the coverall itself. Nice thick material which is great for winter but perhaps not so great in the summer.

Be careful on sizing
I bought these as a gift for my dad as he likes to work in his garage restoring old cars. The quality is great and they are very nice coveralls. I would expect nothing less from Carhartt. However, the sizing is wonky. My dad wears a size 46 suit jacket so based on the reviews and sizing chart I ordered up a size to a 48 long since he is six foot. They were way too long and small in the middle. We exchanged them for a 50 regular and these fit great. I would recommend going up 2 sizes when ordering these. Just be ready you may not get the correct size the first try but they are worth exchanging to get the right size.

Quality product
Having worn Bulwark coveralls for many years during my time in the US Navy, I was looking for an alternative solely due to the rise in price. Found out Carhartt made the same style of coverall. Bought a set and have been using Carhartt ever since. Met the requirement to use in the Navy and held up to the absolute abuse I put them through. They also done seam to fade near as quick as Bulwark does these days. They are a heavy set of coveralls so if you are going to be in a hot climate I would recommend that you wash them a few times before you wear them. But you can pull them out of the bag and go right to work, just going to sweat a bit more the first few days. But they are worth the price.

Legs are a little short. Didn't last 2 years of sporadic use.
The material is hearty and the garment is well-made, but "big & tall" is a misnomer. I'm 6'0 200 lbs, ordered the 44, and it fit great through the chest and upper body, but it rides up in the groin area, and the legs are about 1" too short. So for a "big and tall" advertised, it didn't really even fit a "slightly larger than average and slightly taller than average" guy the best. Not bad enough to send it back, but enough to advise others to order the "tall" size if they're over 5'10".Update: bought January 2018, died November 2019 from sporadic normal use. Mostly used these when crawling under the truck or deep brush landscaping (so maybe 1-2 times/month average), and the zipper went after about a year (repaired/replaced), and now the crotch has completely ripped out as to render them unusable. For $95 and the Carhartt name I really expected more. Will not buy again; very disappointing quality.
