Glad I didn't throw the machine away. The vacuum was in perfect condition but would not work. It was the old battery. I bought this and I was skeptical at first but to my surprise, it worked very well & exact fit. It was durable, powerful, and has a good charging ability.

Started off fine. Battery fit my old Dyson well, and seemed to charge up. Used it a few times (we have two Dysons and tended to use the other one more often) with no issues. Went to use it about five months in, and the battery was dead although I keep the unit plugged in. Thought it might be the outlet, or the charger, but both were fine. Seems that some of these cheaper batteries cease to work after some months use, and I got one of them. It's a pity as the cost of an OEM replacement is 2-3 times the cost. I guess I learned.

I’m very disappointed with the quality and performance of this product. Battery life is very short. Not worth the money.

This battery for a Dyson V6 died within a couple months. No indicator light and no charge have tried multiple chargers, but still dead. Have tried to email the seller and have not heard back anything.

I had an older V6 animal model being stored for a few years and pulled it out to use it as we recently had new flooring installed. I plugged it in, went to turn it on and dead! I know from experience these modern lithium batteries die prematurely if they don’t get charged and discharged (used) on a regular basis. This battery replacement worked out great! It even included replacement filters for the canister. Win win!! It has a blue light indicator that lights up while charging. Once the light shuts off, your battery is fully charged. I purchased this battery replacement about 2 months ago and wanted to be sure before placing a review. Battery longevity is better than the OEM but not quite 3X stronger. I’d say it lasts more like twice as long. I get several uses out of it before having to recharge. Hope this helps 😉

I purchased this battery because the run-time of my previous battery had decreased to the point that it would need to be recharged during use. This battery seemed to provide slightly more power to the Dyson but the run-time was not increased. After two months of use, the run-time of the battery has decreased to the point that it needs to be recharged more frequently than the old battery. I measured the run-time of this battery and it lasted 5 minutes and 43 seconds. The battery (2.6 Ah, 5 years old) that I purchased this one to replace had a run-time more than twice as long. I emailed the seller and asked for a refund or a replacement battery. I received no response to the email. I contacted the seller through the widget on the seller's page on Amazon to ask the seller a question. The seller responded quickly and sent a replacement which I received three days later. The new battery works as it should with a run-time of more than seventeen minutes. I will update the review if this battery fails in the near future.

Our Dyson " MotorHead " original battery lasted six years. That original battery had an i.d. number of SV04 , and that number matched the description of a battery on Amazon's website. To remove the old battery , remove two screws with Phillips heads. One of those screws is behind the canister , so take off the canister for easy access to that one , and the other screw is located on the back side of the handle where the palm of your hand rests. Once screws are removed , grab battery and yank straight down to pull it out of its socket. We have been using this new replacement battery for almost two months now , about every other day , and it has the staying power equal to the original battery.

Doesn’t work…battery will go few seconds then stop- charge it again-try again and stops.I used it about 4 times from purchase on June 4 up today and doesn’t run…And every time I tried to use the vacuum it would be a few seconds of use and than stop…Do not recommend!!!What a waste of money- should have purchased a Dyson battery but this was 2nd one I purchased and had good results with the first battery purchased so thought it would be worth it again.Don’t waste time purchasing off brand battery for Dyson vacuum!
