1/2 off a RT-AC68U - Blows UAP-AC-PRO-US Away
I had two ASUS RTN16's that I had been using as wireless access points. They worked great but I wanted to upgrade my network to wireless AC. I originally went with two UAP-AC-PRO-US APs because the reviews were glowing. I was disappointed because the throughput on the 5GHz would degrade when I got 10 or so feet away from the AP. I could never get more than 130Mbit/s even if the device was resting on top of the UAP-AC-PRO-US AP.I decided to purchase two of these T-Mobile branded router/APs because of how poor the range was on the UAP-AC-PRO-US APs. It took a little bit of work but I was able to flash these T-Mobile branded AC-1900's to the latest Merlin frimware. Changing the firmware yourself converts these devices to RT-AC68U's for about 1/2 off the normal price.Just one of these devices in AP mode gets me 220Mbit/s down anywhere in my house. I haven't measured the full throughput because really all I was looking to do was get the 200Mbit/s down that I am paying for.Considering this device as just an AP, it is significantly more powerful than a UAP-AC-PRO-US. One AP has better throughput and range than two UAP-AC-PRO-US APs which cost $130 each. These devices have 256MB RAM and am 800MHz dual core CPU. This is a superior product and a better value any way you slice it.

whats not to love. This router internally is the exact same hardware ...
A $155 router for only $82, whats not to love. This router internally is the exact same hardware as the AC68U.This router will work perfectly well for the average user regardless if they use the t-mobile wifi calling or not.I have seen many people drop big money on routers to find out they paid an extra $100 for feauters they cant use. If you dont have 10+ devices on 5ghz then tri-band is irrelevenat, and most wifi chips in laptops and phones dont have MU-MIMO and have at best 866mbps speed chps. These AC1900 routers of ASUS have great range, dual core cpu, a better UI then many other firmwares and can handle a lot of devices (I have over 30 wired and wireless devices on my home router). The stock t-mobile firmware is a little restrictive vs the stock ASUS and does not upgrade as often. For the normal user this will in no way be an issue. For advanced users with higher needs there is ways to flash it to the AC68U firmeware, but word of warning it involves a lot more then just upgrading through the web gui utility.

Great Performance. Identical to RT-AC68U with a lower cost
Very pleased. This router is identical to the RT-AC68U model from Asus, except for the T-Mobile branding on the router. I have been very pleased with the quality of the signal and speeds provided by this router. I upgraded from an older Asus RT-N66 router, which I always liked, but wanted to upgrade the speed of my wireless signal. This was an excellent upgrade for me. In response to some of the other comments and questions on this item. I received mine in excellent condition and by all appearances seemed to be new, not used. It appears that different seller may fulfill this order though. My unit also came with the TM-AC1900 firmware (TM for T-Mobile), but it's still a Asus firmware... it is almost identical to the GUI interface from my old RT-N66U router, and I have had no problems with it at all. I haven't attempted to flash a different firmware version as it has worked flawlessly for me on all my devices to this point, but it appears you should be able to change/update it, if you want. In general, it has very good signal and very good speed performance, definitely an improvement over my previous wireless router.

... flawlessly and I am getting the expected throughput and better coverage than my previous wireless N router
So far the router has worked flawlessly and I am getting the expected throughput and better coverage than my previous wireless N router. Comcast recently upgraded my Internet speed to 200 Mbps and my current Asus RT–N66U was maxing out at delivering about 100 Mbps. It was killing me that I had speed that I couldn’t use (at least over Wi-Fi) but I didn’t care so much that I would sink more than $100 into an upgrade for an otherwise functioning router. I chose the TM AC-1900 because, as others have said, it’s essentially identical to the Asus RT-AC68U (except for a few minor differences that frankly weren’t important to me) at a fraction of the price.I can have up to 35 devices connected to my home network at a time. This router handles the traffic perfectly with no dropped connections and utilizing the full speed of my connection (of course depending on network traffic and the capabilities of the connected device).I will add that the router I received was clearly not new. All the seals on the box were open, as were the accessory bags, and the box looked a little beaten up, though all parts were present and nothing looked worn. I can’t say whether it’s used, refurbished, or merely open-box, but it works and looks fine, so I don’t really care, given what I’m getting for the price. I do, however, agree that this should be noted in the product description (-1 star).I’d also like to offer a tip for those taking advantage of a new router to increase their Wi-Fi security. Like many people, each time I have upgraded my router over the years I simply kept the SSID and password the same to facilitate an easy transition. However, as time went on, I realized that the password I chose 8 years ago was not nearly as long and random as it should be. So, when setting up this new router I created all new network credentials, but I also set up one of the guest networks with my old credentials and gave it full network access (not “internet connection only”). This made sure everyone / everything remained connected and I could take my time distributing the new info to my family and changing the credentials on all my smart home devices, printers, media players, etc. I then simply turned off the guest network when everyone had switched over.

Easy set up, strong signal, and extremely cheap compared to non branded equivalent!
We bought this because the non tmobile branded version here in ontario is like another $100-200 bucks more. This does everything the standard one does just with a tmobile logo on the front of it that isnt too big. The signal is a full 5 bars throughout our apartment (though to be fair our apartment isnt all that large, but its still a decent size), set up was a breeze once we realized we accidentally hit the wifi on/off button and couldnt figure out why the wifi had dropped and wasnt turning back on. Came with a blue ethernet to hook up to the modem which is much nicer than a yellow one! If anything comes up within the next 6-12 months ill post an update but it seems like we got a winner!

Well worth the money!
I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but glad to say in my case I received a new unopened Item. I followed the steps to change this to a ASUS AC68U which worked perfectly in fact I’m now running the latest Merlin software! It’s not straightforward so a little computer knowledge is really required. Great Router however, strong fast signal and the ability to set up VPN Client is fabulous.

Outstanding router, but used
This is a 5 star router, but mine came used. Had to reset it because it was password protected. I need it badly so I won't return it.Update1: The router stopped working after 6 months of use. Hopefully there's some warranty left. I will update accordingly.
