Third motherboards a charm?
Yes. I have rebuilt my PC 3 times in the last 3 months. Did I want to? Absolutely not!! I could not buy a motherboard or set of RAM stable enough to obviously not last more than a few weeks. Now, this is a VERY tentative 5 star rating but, maybe, just maybe this is the one??? I sure didn't want to pay $450 plus for a motherboard, but if it consists of actual quality and real stability, I'll obviously pay up.Just for a little background info, my CPU, 14700K, 1000W MSI PSU, 4070 Ti Super. Started with a TUF Z790 Gaming Plus Wifi. Most unstable product you can buy, at least for my CPU and nothing but RAM issues. I requested RMA but never sent it in because I kind of threw it after taking it out of the chassis. Oops. So that was obviously my loss and fault and I'm OK with that, BUT maybe if the mobo had been decent, that wouldn't have happened?? I dunno, just a thought.Second motherboard purchased one month later, ASUS ROG Strix Z790 A Wifi II. Supposed to be for 14th gen Intel out of the box. Well, it was OK some days, but most days was once again unstable especially with memory. So I decided to buy a new set of RAM. G-Skill Trident 7200MTs. Wasn't stable at any stock XMP setting until lowering the frequency. So Not 24 hours after installing that RAM the whole PC shut off. I don't know if it was the RAM or Motherboard so, I sent these back this time. I'm genuinely displeased and tired of playing this run around. So, I get my small once a month check again on the 1st and I buy this motherboard (I know you're thinking, why do you keep buying ASUS you idiot???) and a set of TeamGroup T-Force Delta 6800MT's and so far everything is going without a hitch. No memory errors, XMP actually works along with dimmflex. SO maybe the extra money was worth it, but time will tell because there's a serious lack of quality control on these high priced products which makes you company extremely untrustworthy.I hope this one works out

Excellent motherboard, but make sure to update BIOS!
A nice update to Asus's STRIX series, future-proofed with WiFi 7, and plenty of USB inputs, with 2x Type C and plenty of USB-A.Some of the newly manufactured versions of these boards come with the Intel chip fix that was released over the summer, but this one came installed with the factory BIOS (v0801) from early in 2024.Before doing any installation, I made sure to flash and update to the latest BIOS (v1801) - Asus makes this super simple with the EZ Flash 3 feature that just lets you plug in your PSU to the 24- and 8-pin connector, then flash with a USB stick. After that, I proceeded to seat my CPU and other components. You could probably get away with booting it with the CPU straight into BIOS, but given Intel's issues the past year, best to do your first boot with the BIOS fix already in place to avoid any damage to the Raptor Lake CPU.Currently running an i7-14000K, works great, board fits perfectly fine into my Corsair 4000D case. Versatile for both work and play.

Exceptional purchase
It is one of the best gaming motherboards out there without having to shell out a huge amount of money for one from the HERO series. I like that it has a button to release the video card from the PCIe slot, also that it has 5 slots for m.2 ssds. However, it should be noted that if the main m.2 PCIe 5.0 slot is used, the main PCIe slot of the video card remains working in x8 mode. It is not a problem, since if you have an m.2 PCIe 4.0 you place it from the second slot. As for the rest, it is noticeable that this is a high-quality product. It has plenty of high-speed USB ports. I also like that it still has the 5 audio jacks, so you can use 5.1 or 7.1 sound if you have an analog audio surround system (other brand boards or those with a Z890 chipset are no longer featuring these connectors). I recommend updating the BIOS as soon as you take out of the box.

Has ram speed, audio, and spacing issues, but otherwise nice
The motherboard is working well and doing everything it should except for 2 major and 1 minor problem:1) I tried 2 different RAM stick types in it that were 5600MHZ (which is supported w/o overclocking). One of the ram sets was officially supported by ASUS. Both of them were reporting as 4800MHZ and running as 4800MHZ without overclocking. I contacted ASUS support about this and they were pretty worthless. At the point they wanted me to run a memtest on the RAM (which can take more than a day per stick), I told them I could not afford that downtime and gave up.So I am running a 7800MHZ set of sticks in it at 5600MHZ. I tried turning on XMP so they would run at 7800MHZ, but the bios crashed within 2 minutes every time I tried it.2) I could not fit my "EVGA FTW3 ELITE GAMING GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" into the primary PCIE slot. The M2 drive cover blocked it.3) The audio out jacks don't give as good quality output as I would like. I ended up having to get a USB soundblaster to get good headphone sound. It should also be noted that if the primary PCIE5 M2 slot is used, the PCIE5 16x slot loses half its bandwidth.[Edit] I just changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star. I'm so fed up with their support telling me over and over to do the same things 5 times that I've already told them I've done.

Perfect Asus motherboard!
The media could not be loaded. A gorgeous motherboard. Works great with my i9 12900ks.I tried with an i7 13700k but it has very high temperatures even after updating the bios but that is the fault of the defective 13th and 14th gen intel processors. If error 98 is displayed on the motherboard when starting for the first time, just disconnect the HDMI or DisplayPort cable from the GPU and connect it to the motherboard and restart the computer. The BIOS image will be displayed and then you can connect the cable again to the GPU.The number that is displayed once the system starts is the CPU temperature.I clarify this because there is no information about this in the motherboard manual.I hope this review is helpful.
