Surprisingly sturdy and lots of shelves from such a compact set
I needed a shelf for my limited space and this was available for a low low-price of $22 at the time. I built a 2 column 5 shelf and a 3 shelf instead of the version shown, as I have limited width available, and it works just as well, with a few bits left over.Assembly process is a bit long and tedious, and the diagram was slightly confusing, but the idea is pretty simple: decide on the shape you want to use, as there are 2 kinds of edges: a bi-directional edge, which you need to put in the "middle" to form two columns, and a single-direction edge, which you have to put on the "outsides".<SD>---rods---<BD>---rods---<SD>So if you want to form 3 columns wide, you'd use SD on the outside, and BD in the middles.<SD>---rods---<BD>---rods---<BD>---rods---<SD>Pretty simple, right? Build the layers with the plastic threaded through the two outside rods, then add in the vertical rods to connect the layers. Really, that's it. As I said, it's an amazing job to create a shelf with components tucked into such a tiny box. Kudos to the designers.Unfortunately, there are no feet or such to help you level the thing. The grayish plastic sheeting for the sides and tops/bottoms look okay and neutral enough to not standout but doesn't quite blend in either. Structurally, this relies on just metal rods fitting into holes in plastic, and thus can be a bit flimsy feel, but with multiple layers of at least two columns wide, actually quite steady. Put something heavy in the bottom-most shelves and it should be quite stable. All in all, for $22 I definitely got a pretty good product, and hopefully in a few months I'll be back with a long-term update.

Good for light and small items
This item is great to organize light and small items. With time, it comes apart whether because of weight from things stored in it or because of moving it.

I’ve seen better
I bought this product to store slumberkins and other stuffies. It was meant to go under a loft bed as my video shows. The reason I didn’t give a 5 star review is because the product only came with enough materials to build 6 cubes not 9, Which ended up working out in the end however I could have used them elsewhere. The product is sturdy but not as easy to build and it was frustrating. I have seen better shelving for the price and was all around very disappointed. I bought 3 total sets and they are also missing 3 cubes leaving only 6 cubes. So I am missing a total of 9 cubes with all 3 orders which is a shame. I will be returning the other 2.

Excuse the mess - this WORKS
This holds everything I want and more. I find myself piling stuff on to it forgetting it’s supposedly not sturdy… it holds all my heavy jeans and pants and works as a great shelving unit so my 4 year old daughter can reach her own clothes. It holds all my snacks, a basket full of nail products and it held a full basket of Boosts before I drank them. This is super sturdy and I love that you can arrange the squares how you want. Mines *supposed* to look a lot neater lol. I love this thing for my current small space and will definitely purchase more when I move and have a whole living space to myself. Every room will have at least one LOL. Also side note they fit those cute colored fabric totes in the squares perfect if you want to hide your stuff and make it look more pleasing to the eye. 5 stars highly recommend this thing especially for the price.

Seems flimsy but surprisingly sturdy
Update: These are sturdier than I thought they would be. Somehow, despite their seeming flimsiness, they are holding up well under the weight of all my children’s books. It defies logic, but I’m actually pretty impressed with them.————————————————I have a similar cubby organizer that I bought two years ago that has really held up well even with heavy books. Unfortunately, it was out of stock, so I ordered this one. There is no comparison between the two. This one has really flimsy aluminum rods that bent every time I had to take one of the connectors off. I highly doubt it will be able to hold many books. And the sturdier one I ordered before was only $5 more. So, this isn’t even a “you get what you pay for” situation.
