Alto would be proud.
This is a great model kit. It has lots of moving parts, and has a very clever design, allowing for transformation to all three modes while keeping them all looking great. The head can actually come up a little higher than in the picture shown above, looking more anime-accurate. This is a great kit, provided you keep in mind that it is a model kit that will require EXTENSIVE assembly and decaling. I recommend you buy some Tamiya paints in red, blue, white, black, light gray, and gunmetal gray, and clear green and clear purple Bandai paints to make this Valkyrie look even better. The BEST thing you can do for this model is to get some Model Master clear flat laquer spray to spray on the model after applying the stickers. This will make them stay in place, and make them blend better with the model. Some of the stickers (particularly on the fins) are complete crap and shouldn't even be used, so paint will be necessary for that. Painting the little Alto Saotome figure in the cockpit will also be necessary for the best look. Transformation itself is pretty simple, and fun to do. You can get some really cool poses with this kit in Gerwalk and Battroid mode. It comes with some metal pegs to keep the fins connected and to connect a major swivel point in the transformation mechanism, so there's no need to worry about much of anything breaking on you. All in all, if you're looking for a really nice transformable VF-25 Messiah that (with a little elbow grease) can be gotten as good looking as the DX Chogokins, look no further than this model kit. This model was a joy every step of the way, and continues to be.

Pro - Transformable - Good overall design - Good details Cons - Dificult to ...
I am a Macross fan and this is my first VF. Pity I am not all satified with it.Pro- Transformable- Good overall design- Good detailsCons- Dificult to transform from Battroid to Fighter.- In Gearwalk mode is very dificult to keep the shape.- In Fighter mode I was unable to make the wings in horizontal position.- Some parts are falling constantely when trying to transform.- I don't think it's 100% transformable because the plane's tail part need to be taken out in order to transform it to Battroid. I can understand attaching landing gears or changing hand, but I can not accept a full transformation when some part of the plane just "desappears" in robot mode. Perhaps it should fold to somewhere.- The only mode that keeps in good shape is Battroid.

I didn't know Iron Maidens came in plastic...
Kit is misery incarnate to build compared to Bandai's other kits. I don't know what self-hating engineer was tasked with the design to where it would use friction joints rather than polycaps, but you'll feel like you're gonna break it often. Not to mention the squeak every time you pose/transform it. Past the horror that is the build experience the kit is VERY detailed and includes both stickers AND water slide decals! Bandai doesn't even give their Perfect Grades water slides any more yet here they are in this torture device. Built this for my boss so 3/5 will buy again the next time I feel like I deserve to be punished. Buy a thing of Tamiya panel liner and a polish brick to really pull those details out!

This is a great model for a first timer
This is the first time I've ever put together a mech model, and I was really impressed with the quality of the product as well as how clear the instructions are. This is a great model for a first timer, because there's no need to paint any of the pieces - they already come in plastic molding in the correct colors. The instructions are in Japanese, but that doesn't present a problem since they are carefully illustrated in such a way that make it easy to understand how to proceed with assembly. All told, it took me about ten hours over the course of three days to put it all together, although I'm still putting off adding all the decals.
