DO NOT BUY - RUINED THE FINISH ON MY MANDOLIN
ONLY buy this stand if you do not care about the finish on your instrument. Within only a month and a half of my mandolin sitting on the stand, the finish on the areas where the mandolin was in contact with the stand's padding (on the back of the neck and the base of the body) is totally wrecked (see the attached photos). This is from the mandolin literally just sitting on the stand... A $1,000 mandolin with a perfectly intact finish ruined in just 1.5 months. Seriously?!Needless to say, I'm furious that the maker of this stand doesn't consider using materials that won't ruin the very instruments they hold. What a mistake to buy this stand...

The stand is sturdy and is adjustable for a violin
The stand is sturdy and is adjustable for a violin. It has a bow holder that the bow rests in (an inserted plug at the bottom) but no clasp at the top. Since there was no photo available showing the stand with an instrument I included one.

Poorly Made, Flimsy. Buy Another Product
At the time I bought, was $16. Mine arrived broken, so it had gone back. Reality is that it is not that good regardless of mine being broken. Not upset about that - stuff happens. It is just not a good stand. Light construcion, unstable (topples easily) and a likely candidate to be broken if dropped. The 'protective' materails on the stand to keep product from scratching your instrument are the soft, shiny runner like materail and it 'sticks' to my instrument's neck. So I pick up uke and I get a stand until the stickiness is seprated by gravity. Happened every time. Yes, I tried out the stand even though broken, and it proved to be a bad choice. Back it has gone. 5 stars to Amazon's return policy, thouh!

What Do You Want for a Quarter?
There are some negative reviews for this stand, but for the price, it works well for me. I'm using it for my Fender electric mandolin. The mandolin fits better in this stand than a standard guitar stand. Granted, as some of the other reviews state, it is not extremely sturdy, or well made, and it is pretty light weight. But all I needed was a stand to set my mandolin, so it wouldn't get kicked around, and this stand works. So long as you don't try to step on it, or trip over it, or expect too much from it, it works fine.

My work for Roland AE-5 but not for the AE-10
I play an Roland Aerophone AE-10G and I need a stand for it. I read a review that stated, "I ordered this because Roland AE-10 players use it. It works just as good for my AE-5." I may work fine for the AE-5 but it does not for the AE-10. The AE-10 has a longer thin section at the bottom that goes between the two bottom supports of this stand and ends on on the table/surface that the stand is on. There is no built in way to raise the bottom two instrument supports so the AE-10 can rest on them instead of touching the floor. This is a good stand and I rated it 5 because I think it is well built and works well for the instruments it is made for. Unfortunately the Roland Aerophone AE-10 is not one of them.I decided not to return the stand and I used two black wire-ties to "raise" the bottom supports to where the AE-10 does now rest on the supports and does not touch the floor. But I would advise AE-10 owners to look elsewhere.

Bow Holder has a Design Flaw
While it has a bow holder, it's poorly thought out. You put the screw knob of the bow in the little hole and then you have to carefully rest the stick against your instrument. If you're not really careful when you pick up the bow, you risk snagging some of the bow hairs and breaking them. I ended up fashioning a support for the bow stick out of heavy, coated wire and attaching it to the outside top of the stand. I made it work for me, but there has to be a better product out there.

Poor fit for tenor ukes
Would not recommend for tenor-sized ukes. I have two different tenor ukes and neither felt very sturdy on the stand. The bottom fork just feels too narrow and short to offer much support. It is a good fit for my soprano uke, but I really needed it for my tenors. For the price I didn't want to deal with returning it so I somewhat solved for a tenor fit by stretching out the fork with my hands. I pulled the fork out wider and angled it slightly sharper. That said, I should point out that had it broken in this process I would not have been that disappointed. For now it does the trick for my secondary tenor uke but if you're looking for something for on stage / performance - I would steer away from this unit. For an on-stage tenor uke stand I have started using the Ultimate Support GS55 Guitar Stand (even thought it's a guitar stand). Works great and is still very portable.

Cheaply made and unstable Ukulele stand
Ukulele stand is very cheap and unstable. I should have read the reviews before I ordered it. No instructions were included so it tookme awhile to figure it out but I was determined to solve the puzzle. I am only using it for my cheaper Ukulele and not my expensiveone (Kamaka brand). I don't recommend it unless that's all you can afford.

Sturdy and look great.
I bought this for a new Tahitian Ukelele. Looks good and holds the Ukelele well.
