The PX4 in the item name is misleading; it refers to PX4 firmware and hardware standards, not any one manufacturer. PX4 currently offers FMU v7 for newer processors.That being said, this flight controller is the ancestor to a long line of well respected flight controllers.It runs FMU v2 firmware, however only a few RC hobbyists and developers will ever demand more than this kit can deliver.The flight controller has 'Pixhawk 2.4.8' printed on the case, although FMU 2.4.6 is the current latest version. (PX4 now offers FMU v7 firmware for newer hardware).This is a good starter kit, at a reasonable price, with many of the basic peripherals included. It would work well for most RC vehicle control needs. It supports PX4 or ArduPilot firmwares, for many air/ground/water vehicle types. It can be used with ground control apps like QGroundControl & Mission Planner.

This item ships from China, so plan accordingly and don't expect any tracking information. As others have stated regarding the GPS, the GPS unit is wired for the APM Flight Controllers. If you plug in the GPS to the PX4 without modifying the wires in the connector, the GPS unit will NOT work and will show "NO GPS" in Mission Planner during setup.Is the inclusion of relevant instructions to much to ask?I highly recommend the Pixhawk PX4 FC, but I will look elsewhere for my PX4's in the future.
