I like this caliper, with one caveat
This is a well made caliper for the price. I did some very minor smoothing from a few rough burs on some edges. My main complaint is that the inch scale is very difficult to read. It is marked in 1/16" increments, and all the marks are exactly the same length. Normally 1/8 and/or 1/4 marks will be a longer length so its easier to read. At least make the 1/2" and 1" marks longer. Otherwise works well. Ill try to get a pic to add later.

No batteries required!
Update (1/9/22): While this is a good offering, at $36, it is twice the cost of the comparable one listed below. Reducing rating to 4-stars (cost).Related Products:Oudtinx Professional Caliper Vernier Caliper Stainless Steel Hardened Chromeplated Inch/Metric 0-6"/150mmx0.001"/0.02mm ~ $19https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RV9XVQLSummary: I have used dial calipers for the past 20 years. Starett is the gold standard, followed by Mitutoyo. I have used both, and was taught how to use calipers by my uncle who's been a machinist for over 50 years. I have always stayed away from digital measurement devices, mainly for the mechanical robustness, but also for not needing a battery. Well times have changed, and I'm an electrical (not mechanical) engineer, so now I own a few digital calipers. Ordered this VERNIER caliper to try an alternative to the DIAL and DIGITAL calipers.Observations: The big benefit of these over a dial/digital is the lack of complexity; while you could still damage these by dropping them, the lack of a glass face, or digital display adds a level of robustness.Recommendations: The first few times I learned to read a micrometer, I would practice by having a dial caliper for cross reference, and once I felt comfortable, I used the micrometer without double checking with the caliper. I'll be doing the same with these vernier calipers.Pros: Great fit & finish; smooth operation (compared to Starett and Mitutoyo); nice/functional case.Cons: None for now. Conclusion: At $36, rating this 5-stars.

Very cheap but great quality
Very accurate. Great everyday tool that I use on a regular basis. Edges are very sharp and the locking screw is a nice added touch

Good value
Compared these to a more expensive set of digital calipers, and these agreed to within 3-4 thousandths on the things I tested. Also tested on some drill bits, and these were spot-on. Comes in nice plastic case, too.

Disappointed
My trusty old vernier caliper disappeared so I needed a new one. Looked online, decent reviews...well they either have changed the product or those who reviewed it are not using it on a regular basis especially the standard (inch) side of the caliper. The one half (1/2) marking should be longer making them more distinguishable. The lines and number on the metric side are too long, crowding into the numbers on the standard side. Granted I need reading glasses these days but I have been using a caliper for over 40 years and wish I would have either seen this flaw before ordering. Oh well I will try and make do...seriously though, any company selling something like this should know better. Do not buy this, trust me!

Solid tool, quality metal
Like others have stated it looks and feels incredible, a huge step up from plastic calipers without breaking the bank.

Sharp and glides rough
Sharp edges, feels like its full of sand when moving, but expected for a cheap vernier caliper.

Good, sturdy, precise
I’m a glassblower and use these on hot glass for the most part. The calipers are very sturdy, and locks into place smoothly. Very happy with my purchase.
