Just what I needed!
I have food allergies and have to make almost everything from scratch. Processing fresh tamarind is difficult since I also have arthritis. I had been using another product that is no longer available and was worried about the taste of this product and measurements. I was worried for no reason, it is perfect!

Makes my Pad Thai Sing!
Great product. Great price. I use this in a few Thai dishes and my family loves how they come out.

Good product
The product is good, but you are better off with the squeeze bottle of tamarind please. It is much cleaner, and easier to use the product.

Fresh, Great Flavor
I use it for Asian dishes. It is difficult to find in local stores.

Not as described Not a paste a thin liquid
It is advertised as Tamarind paste that is what I thought I was ordering it is a thin liquid more sour than Tamarind ..It is not in any way a Tamarind paste ..Seems it has been altered ?

I'm struggling to like this stuff.....
I spend about 6 months (plus) of the year in the Philippines and have picked tamarind and cooked with fresh tamarind paste before. I was TRYING to avoid use of the Nestle product used here for making Sinigang (I deplore Nestle with a passion). Sadly, but understandably, no one likes this tamarind concentrate. It is as black as the night, and the flavor is fair at best. I've made maple syrup in my culinary career, so I got the reduction thing...and the darkening of juice as it reduces, etc.. Unfortunately, I shipped a bunch of it to the Philippines and now am trying to use it up with my ginger teas that I brew here. You are much better off to hunt and buy the real stuff and use that in your cooking.....or (I cringe)....buy the Nestle instant powders to impart the zing and zest to your cooking. Our culinary world is going backwards....and gobbled up by the multi-nationals. I must rest my case.........
