Clear but Tedious
American style text in a very redundant style with over abundance of example exercises. Seems it's written for an obtuse American college student who has a rather limited capacity for quick understanding. Takes you through things slowly and without much passion for the subject. Tedious !

The BEST for a first course in Logic.
This was a standard text when I took a philosophy course many moons ago. At that time I focused mainly on getting through the quizzes and exams. Now that I have some time I re-read this text SLOWLY and it is just plain great. For deductive, inductive and syllogistic areas it is unbeatable. I am told the text is still in use for philosophy courses and no wonder! If you wish to clean out some of the cobwebs that have sprung up over the years go through this text at a slow pace. An excellent cleaner for the cluttered mind.

The standard
I have been a student and teacher of logic for a long time. This is the book I would recommend. We are suffering the loss of reason, and have a lot of problems in this country to show for it. Bad decisions produce bad consequences. This book is interesting to read. I has lots of good illustrations and exercises. It deals very well with deductive logic and inductive fallacies. It could be a little better on how to use sound inductive reasoning.

Appropriate contents for modern students
No problem of the book contents. I was unlucky, the seller send me a book full of blue pen underlines and yellow highlighting. The previous user is a diligent reader.

A guide to clear thinking
Copi's book is a classic. It methodically analyzes every way in which reasoning can take a wrong turn and lead to erroneous conclusions. It is illuminating and has everyday practical applications.
