Easy to use!
This is not a review about the Total Wireless service as I have not had it for long enough to make a judgement on it.Focusing solely on the Bring Your Own Phone SIM Card activation kit, I had a very positive experience. It was quite easy to get the new SIM card into my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. The printed instructions included in this kit are simple and direct you to their online BYOP setup. Once you get to the online instructions, they are quite straight forward and easy to follow to activate service through Total Wireless. I ported my number from Verizon Wireless and my phone was ready to go within about 5 minutes after completing the online setup process. The actual service through Total Wireless may or may not be good, but I cannot say at this time. The ease of the BYOP kit made switching a very simple experience.

My local Walmart wants $10 for this sim card kit....
I don't understand the hate on this. It all can be avoided with a little due diligence on the buyers part. If Verizon has good coverage in your area, you will be fine, if not then it won't, ask around. On the Total Wireless website, they can check via your phones IEMI number to see if it is compatible. I was paying $70 for 2 lines on Cricket and I made a mistake on the porting of my numbers to Total Wireless, the reps were very helpful in helping me fix the problem. I never had a problem with Cricket (AT&T) but 5gb per month more for $10 less is a deal in my book. Total Wireless also does not throttle your bandwidth. Also depending on your tax rate, Target may ave a better rate on refill cards than the auto fill discount.

Total Wireless is not Verizon
Yes, Total Wireless uses the Verizon network. Yes, activation and porting in and out is easy, and their customer service is good. And you can get this SIM card next day, or at your local Best Buy. Voice+Text plans start at $25/month, and you can buy rollover data for $10 for 5 GB, so if you are not a heavy data user, it can seem slightly cheaper than Page Plus was before February 2018.But, I found: Total Wireless is not Verizon. In my first month, I noted tons of places near downtown Brooklyn, NY where both phones I used with Total Wireless SIM cards had no signal, or just CDMA, 1xRTT, or 3G; while in those same places I had LTE service on my phones with Page Plus and Verizon proper. On a vacation to Orlando, FL, Total Wireless seemed to be just fine. But I live in Brooklyn, and when everyone around you has LTE and your phone is showing no signal, it does not instill confidence. I ported out.I did run network speed tests on Total Wireless and found areas where I could get > 20 Mb/s up or down. But at home and work, my usual experience was < 5 Mb/s. Probably network congestion and prioritization.
