What a fantastic bag! Last year, I flew with the 30 L unquilted version, as my personal item, and it was great: plenty of room from my feet next to it when I turned the long side parallel to the plane body; very malleable to accommodate varied contents; great zippers, and lots of compartments. I was able to carry a water bottle in the side pocket that has a strap to help hold it in place. Then I purchased the same bag in large, to accompany a family member to a distant hospital for their weeklong stay for major surgery, and it worked well on top of an international spinner carry-on for my second bag. (I have to carry lots of stuff.) I found the yoga strap helpful for carrying my jacket on top of the bags in the summer. Now I’ve upsized to this one with the shoe compartment, which has 7 L more capacity (37 total) than the one I flew with last year. What I particularly like is the shoe compartment. Because I travel also with checked luggage, I plan to use the bottom compartment for items that I must have with me and not risk losing (medication’s & my purse), but that I won’t need until my destination. in separating them this way, the items I want for comfort on the flight (book, other meds, snacks, pillow, light shawl) will be even easier to access. Although technically too large for a personal item, I don’t intend to fill it enough, and it is so malleable that I’m sure it will fit in the sizing container. I’ve seen people carry on even bigger bags for their personal items. If you can catch it still about $20 (the sale price when I purchased & on the date of this review), do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate to grab it! It is worth significantly more and has would have many different uses. I don’t know about laptops of different sizes, but this bag does have a laptop compartment. It fits my iPad Pro 11 inch in its case, which with leeway needs a space of 10.5“ x 8“. by my measurement the length of that compartment is about 15 inches internally, and you could probably fit something 10 inches in height as it rests inside (which would be 10 inch width of the laptop). hope this info helps!

Actually a great bag for the price. My husband doesn’t like anything flashy, naturally. He wanted something roomy but simple. And this does the trick. Fits so much and especially like the bottom zippered compartment for his shoes and sandals so he can keep his clothes clean in the above compartment. Great carry-on or weekender.

Very nice. I used it to carry my clothes to the hospital when I needed to stay for several nights. The bag is made very well!

I purchased this to use as a hospital bag when I gave birth to my son. It was perfect. Baby’s stuff went in the bottom part and it had enough pockets to fit all my stuff. I now use it for weekend getaways. I highly recommend.

This is a great travel bag. I use it solo as a weekend bag and also works for a personal item on the plane (at least for Delta). It balances nicely on top of my smallest suitcase which I use as my carry on. If you want to used this as a personal item I would recommend not stuffing it to its max capacity as it won't fit under the plane seat. However, I took this picture right before I left for a flight and it fit fine under the seat. It did come out a little into my feet area but I just sit with a foot on each side. My only complaints are that the outside pockets aren't super functional. I tried putting my 32 oz Hydroflask in one and it eventually falls out, bit there is a nice water bottle pocket on the inside. The zipper pouch is really hard to use when it's fuller. I actually broke my zipper trying to rezip the pocket after putting something right back. I was able to cut, rethread and sew the zipper so that it would work again. So far this duffle has been on six flights and countless over night/weekend trips and still looks great.

A friend gave me the large gray quilted Bagsmart cosmetic bag as a xmas gift. Even with a closetful of various brands of travel totes and cosmetic/toiletry bags, I was so impressed by the Bagsmart quality that I searched the brand when shopping for a travel tote to coordinate with my recently-purchased gray Travelpro Bold carry-on spinner bag.The straps, zippers, lining, and seams of the Bagsmart Weekender Bag appear to be of excellent quality. (I haven't used the bag yet.) The trolley sleeve on the back is essential for a travel tote when combined with any roller bag. The extra "yoga mat" strap could be used for securing a sweater, jacket, or neck pillow when traveling. The front and inside zippered pockets are roomy enough for items that need to be easy to access (passport, boarding pass, masks, lipstick, hand sanitizer & wipes, etc). The Bagsmart Weekender Bag is the perfect size: large enough for essentials without becoming unwieldy when full. If not overstuffed, this compressible bag (18.5x11x8.7) will fit the maximum dimensions for Personal Items on American Airlines (18x14x8) and United Airlines (17x10x9). Delta Airlines defines allowance Personal Items as "fits under seat" so YMMV.As much as I like Travelpro products, I would have considered the Bagsmart 2-piece Luggage Set in gray or red instead of the Travelpro 21-inch Spinner, which I purchased before becoming aware of the Bagsmart brand. Only con to the Bagsmart 2-piece Luggage Set is the smallish tote (14x10x5).
